- Main concern is placement but if you prepared well though yourself then you can easily achieve your dreams company job it's on you
- Hostel is also a concern because we don't get hostel in very first years
Course Curriculum Overview
Since Assam University is one of the top leading Universities in Assam and after IIT Guwahati, and NIT Silchar you Can choose Assam University for Good campus life and decent Placement rate. Faculty are good as well as some are not good because few are only provided theoretical things not provided practical very much. Faculty are well qualified most of them are MTech and Ph.D. from IIT NIT and top universities. From 2023 exam is only a two-time Internal exam and End sem exam. 30+70 total 100 marks in a semester. Some subjects are a little tough to pass but most of the subjects you can pass easily with decent work.
Internships Opportunities
After 3rd year you can get a chance to do an internship with a good company like Flipkart. But the main thing is you have to have some skills for this because not too many companies visited here so this was a main concern.
Placement Experience
Students in 4th year are eligible for campus placement. Several service-based companies are coming here for recruitment. Like TCS, Infosys, Reliance, Zaloni, Hexaware, Capgemini, cognizant, and Flipkart. The highest in-campus package was 12LPA. And around 30-40 percentage students get placed at Assam University.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure is not too much as it is a central university so One year's fees are around 56 thousand rupees and hostel fees was 30 thousand. Various scholarships are provided by central as well as state gov through NSP. Few students get student relief funds From every department whose family incomes are less than 1 lakhs.
Campus Life
The campus life of Assam University is too Good, you will get the best campus life here, the infrastructure is decent and there are several clubs like the web development club, app development club, art, music, innovation, dance, drama, photography many more. Since Assam University is a central university so it has too many fest annual fests like AUSKRITI, Techfest YANTRAKSHA, and many more.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel availability is a concern here most of the 1st year students do not get a hostel here, They have to stay rent or take some Paying Guests for alteast the first year. If you are from outside Northeast then you can stay in a hostel as a guest, Food quality in Hostel is good but varying hostel to hostel. Currently, there are 5 hostels for Boys and 6 for Girls available in the university.
Admission
Assam university Provides B.Tech courses which are available in three Streams Computer science and engineering, electrical and communication engineering, Agricultural engineering Eligibility to get a seat in Assam University B.Tech course You have to clear JEE main examination and have secured a good percentile. And you can participate in Jossa as well as CSAB for counseling. A few seats are reserved for female students and Assam domicile people.
