AWESOME COLLEGE FOR STUDIES, EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND SUPER TEACHERS.

    REMARKS

There is not such bad remarks about the college. Overall it's a very good institute not only for studies, but also for overall personality development. The surrounding of all students and teachers from various caste and religion help us to learn more about people which helps in getting to know them and get knowledge about them.

  • ENTRANCE PREVIEW

For Botany, there is no entrance exam. Admission is based on marks obtained in BSc. My love for subject and the Xavier's being one of the best science college was the reason I opted here.

  • FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES

Fee structure was quite reasonable. It was not very huge. For our course it was around Rs.13000 annually. As our was a 2 year course, so total fees was around Rs.26000.They also have scholarship available for financially backward students. It is given to a student having good academic record and have low income of parents etc. The laboratory and library deposit are usually refunded after the end of course.

    PLACEMENT WING

They have a placement cell where you have to register yourself to get the updates about companies. Most of them are IT and management based companies. Job profile was basically of salesperson. Many new companies had approached for placement. Minimum package offered by most of them of more than 2 Lacs.

  • ADMISSION

They have a very simple online procedure where they list dates accordingly. First one has to get the application form. Second fill it and submit it at general office. Third- Date of merit list would be displayed in website. One has to go physically and look if their name appears in merit list. If selected, dates will be displayed on website for admission and fees payment. One has to go to the respective date and meet the HOD and take the signature. Afterwards, final submission of form along with original documents for verification followed by fees payment and then admission confirmed.

    HOSTEL FACILITIES

Hostel facility is available. Its quite neat and clean. I personally didn't stay but i had a friend staying there and he has no complain about anything. Mess is awesome and fresh delicious food is served. Food quality is very good and serves both veg and non-veg food. Tea and coffee available as per choice. Breakfast items also vary. Basically one can't get bored with the mess food. And yes it's affordable. For hostel people I think it's cheaper. In cases where hostel seats are full, they have to find accommodation on their own.

  • ALUMNI

Seniors were very helpful in all aspects. They helped us understanding the course, examination, with all necessary notes etc.

    FACULTY

Very well qualified teachers and very cooperative.Teachers are well experienced having minimum MSc. qualification. Most of them are Ph.D qualified. They have a very good knowledge and also make us to think out of the box. They are always ready to help. They teaching help us to grow personally as well.

  • CAMPUS LIFE

Campus life is awesome. Spacious garden area, large canteen serving almost all types of food. Fests like fresher's party, Rose day, Malhar, departmental fests, music and arts fests make it more awesome to be around in college. Female student population is more than that of the male population.

  • EXAM STRUCTURE

Examination dates were well managed so that one can have time for last minute revision and also timing was such that people won't come late. The examination hall was also well maintained and spacious. Laboratory was neat and clean and all the lab assistants were very helpful and cooperative. It was not hectic but yes it was busy enough.

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

It's an Autonomous institute, so the course structure is well set focusing on research which is quite different from regular institutes. Each paper is divided into various parts, which gives an ease to understand and study the topic. It is then followed by laboratory practicals which is a gives us an practical idea to what is being studied in theory so that it's related Practicals focuses more on research which gives us an opportunity to explore things on our own. Also feasibility in examination dates and venue is an add on benefit.

  • INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES

Internship is being offered in some cases. I am not very sure about the stipend amount etc. They do have this facility, but for our course we did not had any internship opportunity.

    COLLEGE EVENTS

Malhar fest one of the biggest fest in Mumbai. Many cultural fests, music fests, arts festival, science fest celebrated. Some other days such as Traditional day, Rose day, Convocation ceremony, Fresher's party, Feast etc are celebrated.. There are many other departmental fests which happens in due course of time.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

Student Beneficiary Fund for financially backward students. I had applied for this scholarship. 50% of annual fees, Industrial visit fees, books etc. Are covered under this scholarship..

The college is really good for teaching and sports. They also organises the events where we can show our skills. The food quality is not that good. Also it does not provide any expenses if we represent the college in other college events.
