My Experience in LPU as a 1st year student

There are a lot of courses offered by the university. I opted for B.Tech in Computer Science as it is the most popular course offered at LPU. The faculty here are decent with a few very good ones. The student ratio is also okayish here. There are two major exams conducted in one semester. One Mid Term exam and End Term exams, also there are three continuous assessment conducted for each subject out of which the best 2 is chosen. The papers are neither too tough nor too hard, one can easily pass these exams and score good marks with some effort.

Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, etc visit the campus for recruitment. The average stipend is 3-4 LPA. Various roles are offered by the companies depending on the skill of the students.

Here students can sit for placement from their 3rd year of B.Tech. A student must have a CGPA of 8 or above to sit for placements. The average placement here offered by the visiting companies is 4-5 LPA. The highest package can go above 50 LPA as well. Few students who are exceptionally well grab higher packages above 20 LPA. Only a few percent of students sit for placement because most of the students drop out before completing the degree and many students do not sit for placement because they pursue higher education or start their own business.

The fee for B.Tech Computer Science is quite high it is 120000. But one can get a scholarship for up to 50% of the course fees if they score very well in LPUNEST or above 95% in Boards exams. The hostel charge is quite high though. After scholarships, the courses are mostly affordable for the students. One can also take student loans easily for studying here. In fact, many of my friends studying have taken student loans. You can also apply for part-time jobs in campus for extra earning

There are many fests held on the campus every month. The grandest fest held here is One World which is conducted in April. A lot of students participate in that. In the central library, there are books available for each department as well as for competitive examinations. Books can be easily issued by the students for a period of one week. There are several groups in the university that one can join according to their interest.

One can choose one seater room, two-seater, three-seater room or four-seater room or dormitory according to their comfort. The price is highest for one seater i.e Rs.150000 and Rs.120000 for 2 seaters Rs.100000 for 3 seaters and Rs.90000 for 4 seaters. In the hostel room, you will get one bed one cupboard and a study table along with a chair. The mirror is also there in the room. The mess food provided is just what can be called decent nothing more than that. Also, there are many Pgs available near the university where students can opt for living.

Anyone who scores 60% in their board's examination and has scored passing marks in LPUNEST is eligible for admission. You can find the application on the university's website. The fee for the form is 1000 for boys and 500 for girls. One can take admitted to this college through LPUNEST conducted by the university or through Jee Mains percentile. The scholarship is given to most of the students who take admission to LPU. The amount of scholarship that a student gets is based on the score of LPUNEST. They also give scholarships based on your JEE Mains percentile.
