What Students Say

Likes

Campus life along with big green campus.
Excellent placement in all fields also internship.
Amaging guide by faculty members and seniors .

Dislikes

85% attendance which makes academic hactic.
Very few core companies visit students of core branches are places in no core fields.

Course Curriculum Overview

Professor are good they are well qualified and academic is also good. The only problem is the 85% attendance which I think need to be removed it should be 75%. Faculty student ration is also good at our College. Semester exams are every after 2 months(mid sem+end sem) and the papers are towards the tougher side it is not easy to pass the exam without having a brief knowledge of the topic.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 820000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Since I am in 2nd year I don't have much knowledge about roles in companies but I know seniors who have secured internship in excellent company with a stipend of lakhs rupees.I also know people who have cleared GSoC.

Placement Experience

Different companies starts visit our College from 7th sem for internship as well as campus placement.companies like Amazon ,Google , Microsoft, Deloitte, Accenture,Wipro,TCS, and many other companies visit with a good amount of offers.Almoat 95% of the students are placed through campus placement. After getting degree I will got for MBA from IIM's.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fess of our College is not much but even if it is not affordable by any students then there are scholarship for students whose parental income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakh they are given a tuition fee waviour of 2/3 and students whose parental income is less than 1lakh they have zero tuition fees.

Campus Life

Campus life at NIT ROURKELA is excellent we have 4 feast and along with that we have 2 hostel feasts. I our College there is heigest number of clubs i.e, around 82 which helps in all round development of students. Also the campus is 1200 Acers with greenery all around which feels good to stay in campus.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Nit Rourkela has 12 hostels 9 for boys 2 for girls and 1 is for married. Hostle campus are beautiful well maintained and also room are much spacious with double accomodation. Mess food are okay type and good for non veg peoples because it provides non veg 8 times a week.

Hostel Fee: INR 47000 per year

Admission

I have been in college after qualifying jee mains2022 examination. I secured 97%tile in my jee exam with a OBC rank of 7324. I got admission through Jossa counciling and the addmission process was very smooth so I don't this there is any change required

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. To avail admission you need to have a good JEE Main rank for which previous year cutoffs are available on the internet....Read More

The course requires us to clear jee mains in which the cutoff is above 90 percentile for general category. The form is found on NTA website and fees is about 1000 rs for general category. The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
