Unveiling the pros and cons - LPU edition

I have chosen B.TECH Computer Science & Engineering because of my interest as well as because it is a very emerging field for the future. One of the best things I like here is that they provide you with a personal mentor from whom you can share your problems and take suggestions. The faculties are very highly qualified. For every 70-80 students there is 1 faculty subject-wise. In LPU, management is very strict about session starting and ending timing. Unlike movies, in LPU you cannot think about passing by studying only the last night of the exam.

Companies like IBM, Intel, Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, Pega, Bosch, TCS, Tech Mahindra, VMWARE, DELL, Siemens, and Wipro are the most common recruiters for internships. Most of the students are firstly placed as interns at any company after that they get a placement as their performance.

When you enter your 5th semester you became eligible to sit in the placement drives. From 4th semester onwards your mock interview and placements preparation classes will start. There are some charges also for placement preparation classes. The highest on-campus placement was 38 lakh at Amazon company. From my assumption, approx 89% of students are getting placed.

There is a constant fee for your 4 years of B.TECH CSE course. In my case, my fees per semester are 1,20,000 and that will not change for 4 years. Residential charges keep changing. You can face a hike of 5k-10k per year for your hostel charges. The total cost for 4 years of B.TECH CSE in LPU is 15,00,000 (academics + residential). Residential is quite expensive as compared to outside the campus. After giving the LPUNEST exam, your scholarship percentage will be calculated. For freshers, they provide good financial assistance but when you enter 2nd year they will block your attendance if you have not paid fees before the given deadline. My personal experience with the placement cell is very positive because it will help you very much.

Approximately every week there will be one event or fest will be there. You can get a world-class auditorium with a full Air Conditioner facility and very comfortable seats is also there. A huge library with 5 floors and availability of almost every book of your need. Every classroom has 2 ACs but here is the sad thing is that many AC does not work well. A facility for registering complaints of anything i.e. regarding maintenance, cleaning, and Faculty complaints. College management highly encourages the sports field. There is an extra dedicated building named the Division of Student Welfare there so that we can enhance our social skills.

Residential facilities are good but very overpriced when you compare them to rooms outside of the campus. Routine cleaning is done every 3-4 days. Discipline is one of the scariest parts of LPU hostels because they do not let you celebrate your birthday without the availability of guards also, too much strictness is there. The good thing is that LPU is zero ragging and zero smoking cases you can see here. Registration for the hostel facility is a very easy process, you can register by its website itself.

You have to score greater than 70% marks to become eligible for the LPUNEST exam from where you have been given an Online Proctored Test . Also, on the basis of your score in the LPUNEST exam, you will be eligible for different scholarship percentages. I have found the application form from the Collegedunia website.
