Course Curriculum Overview

4

The B.Tech CSE curriculum at LPU is usually designed to cover a broad spectrum of computer science topics. It includes programming languages, data structures, algorithms, software engineering, and more. The curriculum often adapts to industry trends. I chose B.Tech CSE because it aligns with my passion for technology and problem-solving. Plus, it opens doors to diverse career paths in the ever-evolving tech world. The faculty:student ratio at LPU can vary, but generally, they aim for a reasonable balance. A lower ratio often means more personalized attention. Faculty members usually hold relevant degrees and certifications in their fields. They often have industry experience as well. You can check the faculty profiles on the university website for detailed qualifications. Teaching methods can differ, but many professors at LPU use a mix of lectures, practical sessions, and project work. The focus is often on practical application alongside theoretical knowledge. Exams are tough.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students at LPU often become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. This gives them time to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge. Several reputed companies visit LPU for placements. It's common to see names like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, etc. The number of offers made can vary each year. The highest and average packages depend on the company and the roles offered. For example, IT companies might offer different packages compared to core engineering firms. The percentage of students getting placed can also vary. LPU usually boasts a decent placement record, and efforts are made to enhance employability through various initiatives. I plan to pursue my masters after my bachelor's.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure at LPU usually includes tuition fees, examination fees, and other miscellaneous charges. LPU may have a policy for fee hikes, and it's advisable to check with the administration for the most current information. LPU offers various scholarships based on academic performance, LPUNEST scores, or other criteria. Some common ones include the LPUNEST scholarship, Merit-Based scholarships, and scholarships for economically weaker sections. Financial assistance programs may be available to support students facing economic challenges. These could include loans, installment plans, or other aid. LPU often provides opportunities for on-campus jobs. These could be in various departments like libraries, labs, or administrative roles. Some students may also get involved in research projects. Stipends for on-campus jobs can vary. It's a great way to earn while gaining valuable experience. The stipend amount will depend on the nature of the job and your level of involvement.

Campus Life

3.5

LPU hosts "One World," its annual cultural fest, and "Tech Fest," usually named "Turing" or something techy. One World brings a vibrant mix of cultural events, while Turing showcases the tech prowess. Keep an eye out for these, usually happening around February or March. The library at LPU is typically well-stocked with a variety of books and journals. It's a go-to place for academic resources and research material. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities like audio-visual aids, projectors, and comfortable seating. The focus is often on creating an engaging learning environment. LPU offers a range of sports facilities, from cricket fields to basketball courts. There are also extracurricular activities like dance, music, and drama clubs. It's a great way to balance academics with some fun! LPU has numerous social groups and clubs catering to different interests. Whether it's coding, photography, or debating, there's likely a club for it. Some are official, while others student-runned.

Admission

The admission process typically involves applying online through the official LPU website. For B.Tech CSE, you might need to take LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test). The university might also consider other national-level entrance exams. Eligibility criteria usually include a minimum percentage in your qualifying examination (like 10+2). For specific details, check the university's official website or the admission brochure. You can find the application form on the university's official website. Fill it out online with the required details. The application fees vary, so it's best to check the current fee structure on the website. Application dates are also mentioned on the website. They usually have specific windows for applying, and it's essential to submit your application within those. Details about reservation benefits, if available, are often outlined in the admission brochure.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
