Remarks

College management is excellent with the masterclass infrastructure. Only thing in the campus is lack of experienced trainer and teacher, which would have made it complete.

Entrance Preview

TBJEE is the exam through which I was selected. I was passionate about learning mechanical engineering since my 11th standard as I loved physics, which led me through taking the mechanical engineering subject. Minimum qualification for admission is to have 70% in 12th board exam. After that I applied to them for admission. They asked me to verify the documents and after verification I was asked to join the college on 1st Aug,2011

Course Curriculum Overview

4

curriculum is very good with extensive knowledge of latest upcoming technologies but for that curriculum extensive teacher is missing.Curriculum is designed based on the UGC and other technical college curriculum. Even some collaborations with foreign opportunities also gives a pathway to foreign university curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

They do not provide any internship by themselves. However they gives you time duration within the curriculum for internship. But it is very difficult to get the internships arranged since the companies do not have tie-ups with those companies.

Placement Experience

2

Well if I have to say about my department than I should say nearly ZERO placements in my department. Some companies like asahi glasses and L& T comes for picking 4-5 students only. However you have mass opportunities if you are interested in IT placements. Than you are sure to get one with 3-4 LPA package.

College Events

4.5

Youthvibe is the most popular festival happens every year in the college. It is organized along with IIT's and NIT's collaboration. From technical events to cultural events everything is celebrated in this fest with lac of rupee as prizes are distributed among the participants. Other than that small fests like technovation, battle of bands, fashion week etc are also extensively celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure depends on scholarship you receive. If you have 90 percent marks in board exam than you can get 60 percent scholarship, with 80 percent mark you can get 50 percent scholarship and with 70 percent you can get 40 percent scholarship. After receiving 50 percent scholarship my fee was only 30000 per sem and hostel fee 67000 per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships can be availed as discussed. However with LPUNEST exam also scholarship can be availed upto 100% for the first position holder of that exam. Loan facilities can be availed from any of the tie up banks like SBI, PNB etc.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is something to be cherished forever. With the extensive beauty and the facilities provided, you can enjoy some best phase of your life. Students from 23 states studies here along with some international students, which makes the campus very diversified. Gender ratio is around 3:5 with equal opportunities to everyone. No politics are involved in the campus and no discrimination is done to anyone regardless of the cast and creed.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are excellent except food. As you will rooms with cooler or fan or ac, as per your choice with varying cost. Rooms are very much comfortable with bathrooms attached to it. Cleanliness is done everyday. WiFi is available 24x7, water cooler is also available. study rooms are also available. However mess food is very bad, I would suggest not to take mess food. No.of seats for hostel rooms are a lot, so no need to worry about seats.

Alumni/Alumna

It is very much difficult to stay connected with the seniors as the hostel are separate. However any known person will appreciate any of help you need. With the anti-ragging restrictions it also becomes very difficult when senior and junior interaction is considered.

Exam Structure

Exam is designed as per standard AICTE structure. All the teachers makes their own question paper which is put into computer program which decides best among them and which is later put into the question paper. This creates a chaos among the students for which one to study and what not. Therefore we had to drag through a lot for getting qualified in the exam.

Admission

I got to know about the college from one of my colleague. After knowing all the details I was pretty impressed and decided to go with it. Than I went to their admission center of the state and verified my documents and confirmed my admission. I was also asked to give Rs 20000 draft, as a conformance of joining, which was later adjusted with the college fee.

Faculty

2

Faculties are available will never miss the class. Even though teachers are available and they never miss the class but they or not well experienced. They are mostly some picked up students of M.tech from local NIT's and other colleges in Punjab. They do not have any industrial experiences and also any teaching experiences that they could share and make the students to learn out of it.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
