What Students Say
Likes
- Library, because it's very calm and peaceful, but also have everything I need for exams and study.
- Large campus, being so huge that you won't get bored ever trying to explore different places.
- Friends and social life is pretty good as well.
Dislikes
- Faculty, not all faculties were good, in my case only 2 out of 6 were very good and others didn't teach us that well and some didn't even finish even one chapter in entire semester.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose it because my father is in the similar line but lack the actual theoretical knowledge, I can gain theoretical knowledge and my father can teach me practically. Student to faculty ratio isn't that good it's about 1 faculty per 70 students. So personal attention won't be given and some faculties doesn't even teach at all. So overall you have to study yourself, but if luck happens to be good one can get really good faculties as well. Mid term exams were after 2.5 months of starting the semester and only after 1 month of mid sem were final sem exams, it was all pretty quickly done. Passing is not an issue, exams weren't hard at all and many questions were from pyqs. If one studies 2 or 3 days before exam they can pass easily.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee increases by 10,000 each year and sometimes even 20,000 for final year. It all needs to be given under 1 month which is a bit pressurising for parents who cannot gather that much money fast. There are a few scholarship in the campus but I don't know much because I didn't choose for any yet. I will in the near future.
Campus Life
It's pretty chill here. Maybe hard for a few days to find friends of your matching but one can manage in a few day. Many fests are held regularly like a fresher party is held after some time of addmission of 1st years, and other fest happen like Engifest which will most certainly be 12 to 17 February for us this year(2024). There are a lot of books, if one wants to study in peace the library is the best. There is everything one needs for study. But internet doesn't work well in there so no distractions is pretty nice.
Admission
I gave JEE for admission, after the results came in April, the admission process started from June. Ragisteraion for addmission was through JAC Delhi councilling on their website jacdelhi. addmissions .nic.in , I filled my preffered choices of college and courses available there in the lis that was provided on the website after registeration and login. After JEE advanced was finished the cut off list started to release on the website. The website will send an e-mail if you get addmission in one of the college in any one of the selected college even before list is released on the website, you have to pay a certain amount of fee and get its printout ready. You have to go to the college with certain documents either on same day or next for verification of documents. After that if any rounds of councilling are left and you get upgraded to better college of your choice you'll be promoted automatically. After the addmission process a 7 day orientation took place.
Other Applied Colleges
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology - [MAIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I thought there would be more opportunities to grow in DTU than MAIT
