Entrance Preview
I took my JEE MAINS exam in 2016 and I scored 89 marks and for this reason I was not able to get admission in a good university or college . So one of my friends who also studies there told me to join LPU . I was worried because nobody would mention LPU to be comparable to IITS, NITS etc . But I decided to give it a try .
Course Curriculum Overview
During my first year in Computer science I didn't know anything about programming . To talk about the course , its very effective and practical . You cannot move ahead if you are not practicing what's being taught in the class . But for a newbie the programming part somewhat tough or moderate. But the teaching they school you with is great .
Internships Opportunities
LPU has tie-ups with many companies and every year many reputed ones come and recruit the best . Talking about internships, yes . LPU conducts exchange programs and internships are provided in those programs I dont know exactly if the internships earn you some money or not but they are worth joining and you can learn a lot
Placement Experience
Every year companies like TCS, Congnizant, Tech Mahindraand others come and recruit from the lot . During my first year TCS and Cognizant combined to recruit 800+ students . The package averaged at 3.25 LPA and peaked at 12.5 lakhs .
College Events
Our university believes in culture and diversity . We have NSS and NCC culture department . Now and then celebrities come and go. They come here to promote their movies songs and future plans . Our university feels proud to have cabinet ministers and president Pranav Mukherjee as our guest . To name a few , Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan have visited the university .
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is affordable and they have a block that invites banks to conduct loan programs and issue loans to the ones that are dealing with a financial crisis .
Fees and Financial Aid
They conduct the test named LPUNEST which is a scholarship test and based on your result you can help yourself reduce you semester fee by upto 90% . Your 12th score also determines your fees. The higher you have in your 12th the less fee you have to give . Banks are there to provide you with student loan
Campus Life
Campus life is the best . You meet peoplr from all around the world . LPU can be renamed to " Our Little India " for you can see a guy or a girl from each state , especially the south .Every festival is celebrated here . Tech events are conducted now and then . Literature events are conducted every week and sports competitions always come and go. Gender ratio is 2:3 in favor of boys. There are programs conducted for creating awareness regarding gender equality and sexual harrassment . Politics is not present in the university and there is no student leader .Every one has their own voice and LPU is the sole decider of decisions
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are great . There is a lift in every hostel and I card scan without which you can't enter the hostel . The rooms are good with good conditions . The mess is moderate with different types of food options . Even if you don't want to take a bite from the mess food , LPU has 4+ food courts that your pocket can easily afford when you want the good .
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are quite helpful . We come to know about the dos and don'ts from them before anyone . They help you from their own experience and do not indulge themselves in ragging and other stuff
Exam Structure
Tests are conducted regularly in classes and we are taken to computer labs thrice a week . We have the best labs with mac interface and windows and linux . Exams are conducted twice each semester and are MCQ based for mid semester and theory as well as mcq for end semester . Exams are conducted in a good environment and the invigilators help you with every query.
Admission
LPU unlike other private colleges conducts its own entrance test known as LPUNEST . As soon as I reached they told me to give the test and I scored good I would be provided with a scholarship , and so I did. And after the result they waived of my semester fee by half . There are different blocks for specific queries in the campus . Admission takes place in the admission campus . They will fill up the required details and get your 12th score card and any other if necessary . LPU releases its admission dates near end of april to 1st week of may . Talking of administration the staff is supportive and guides you through every single step of terms and conditions and process through which you will get enrolled .
Faculty
The faculty is supportive and possess tons of loads of knowledge . You think of a question here and the answer is served in the best way . Although every college has some teachers that may become a pain in your head , the overall staff is good and understands your problems. Moreover most of them live inside the university , so you may clear you problems early. The faculty is more than qualified in their respected fields , so never doubt them of what they are doing unless you are pretty sure about it.
