As I from commerce background I always wanted to pursue BCom hons . BCom hons will help me finding my future opportunities in finance as well management filed. Talking about the faculty of our college it's very supportive and always help us in our studies.

There are various types of internships opportunities available in our college like broomies, Tata 1mg, Sunergeo India, Captain sales which offered various roles like Market Analyst, Human Resources intern, Content Writing Intern which provide stipend as well as experience to our students.

Placement Experience

Talking about the placement in our college we have a placement cell called aspire who conducts placement opportunities as well as internships opportunities. Dedication from aspire brings companies like EY, Delloite, Accenture and many more in our college. The highest placement offered in our college is 21lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Talking about the fee structure of our college it's very minimal. For this many universities charge very high fee but as it's a government college and they even provide relaxation in fee for various categories.

Campus Life

Our College conduct fest called Tatva which happens annually and this is one of the best fest in overall university. A lot of books which is related to academic and books who are not related to academics are available in the library. And even we have many social groups in your college which are run by the students and it helps in improving our skills.

Admission

I was admitted in the College through an entrance exam called CUET. As I from EWS Quota I got 10% reservation . To get eligible for BCom hons in University of Delhi you have two type of combination for CUET you have to choose one either of two

Likes

Affordability in terms of fee structure and degree they don't have huge amount of fee for any particular program.
Market value as its the oldest and known college of delhi university and their new buildings makes it value for money college.

Dislikes

college do not have proper hygiene in terms of classroom and campus

its highly reletive as they claim and mention in their course structure. they overall difficulty level the exam level are also moderate and if its about the areas for improvement they should focus key campus and library area its should be accessable to all

supportive and approachable who explains concepts really well, like pallavi mam and shweta mam
good campus life like cafeteria area, library, and classrooms
active campus life with good opportunities to interact with other students

could get a bit crowded when both the shifts have classes

the whole reason i chose jims kalkaji is beacuse of placements it is popular for placements it offers multiple placements after your 3rd or 4th year of specializtion different multiple companies come here to pick students.

The faculty members are supportive, knowledeable. Teacher explain concepts clearly and encourage student to participate in discussion
I like friendly and comfortable campus environment. student from different background intreact with each other
The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

I would rate the course curriculum around 4 out of 5. The curriculum is well structured and covers important subject related to commerce, accounting, finance, economics and business. Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Shyam Lal College( Morning) Review

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

Likes

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. BCOM helps to understanding real world bussiness practices , accounting sytem etc . on;ine study material recordimg leture and assigments also make flexible for students to study their own pace. exams are usually conducted semister wise the difficulty level 0of exam are moderate if students were attend the class regulary and prepare well

The course relevance I will rated as 9 out of 10 because I still find I need to explore more but overall all they have been very reachable.. its for students welfare and it increases the productivity.

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

overall the college is very nice be it academic or co curricular front. canteen and cafeteria is very nice but the only thing they need to improve is placement cell.

My experience as a first year student in CVS, DU

I applied to this college because I was very intrigued by the course that I'm pursuing which Is human resource management. And Cvs is the only college providing this course in Delhi University Apart from applying for vocational courses at this college, i applied to other DU colleges providing Be.el.ed. And as my admission process was done through csas portal, my first choice for the courses I wanted to do my grad in was HRM itself, and I was alloted my first preference in the first round of csas and therefore I freezed it. The current admission process is great as you justhave to fill your course preferences in numerical order of how likely you want them to be alloted and then the round wise counselling begin. If you get alloted the college, then you have two options either two upgrade or to freeze, if you upgrade then you will be eligible for next round and another course that you filled in your preference sheet and if you freeze then you choose the particular alloted course...Read More

Life at CVS

To take admission in this college you need to give CUET common University entrance exam . The eligibility criteria is that you need to take one language and three domains in order totake admission in B.A Honours, B. A programme and b. Com (prog).the application form can be found on nta website and you need to be really aware of what's going on around the Cuet examination through news and YouTube. reservation quotas are given to SCs, STs, OBCs as well as EWS in Delhi University the cutoffs are comparatively low as compared to general category. if we are talking about college then the college infrastructure is really poor and teachers though are really qualified don't take classes on time the colleges image outside is really good but the ground reality is something very very different from the image it has maintained outside . Sport facilities are poor there is no basketball court, tennis court and any other sports facility. Culutural socities are really good and wins a lot of prizes....Read More
