Environment, campus and the study styles
Our faculty is really nice, it is called the royal department afterall
I like the freshness here and also the greenness

Dislikes

The food for sure.. As a bangali I prefer more spices
The weather is weird . Sometimes it is really cold and sometimes it’s really hot
Some professors aren’t supportive for this we face difficulties

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was always passionate about machines. I wanted to learn more about them that's why.. Student ration is like 80:20 Our professors are really humble and their teaching method is really nice.. Term exams were exactly in time.. Some subjects were really easy to pass and some were really harder

Class Size: 670Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Placement Experience

From 7th semester students are eligible for placements, There are many placement opportunities as well as internship opportunities. About 70% students are getting placements. My plans are after graduation I will try for higher studies

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't have to pay the fees as a ICCR scholar so I don't know about it that much. ICCR scholarship is a scheme which are for international students. we are provided with all the fees and also get 18k stipend per month

Campus Life

3.5

We have fests like COSMO, INNOVISION, NITRUTSAV , VRIDDHI . The availablity of books are decent in the library.. Our classrooms are really nice we are provided with multimedia, AC and enough lighhts. Footbal, volleyball and many more. Yes there is a lot of clubs , we have dance clubs named synergy (which I am a member of) , mevericks , nritunjay , music clubs like heartbeats, euphony , drill and base , acting club named actominia , debating club named clarion, chess club named knights and many more

Hostel Facilities

Hostel room of the girls are really small.. Meal that are provided in the mess is decent.. We have to first take our admission then have to show the form to the warden office, then they will allote us a room

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

I came through ICCR scholarship. We have to give a essay for primary selection then if we are selected ee have to give a EPT exam .. In the third round we have to give viva.. You can find the application form in ICCR.in , there is no application fees and the dates starts from march..

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. To avail admission you need to have a good JEE Main rank for which previous year cutoffs are available on the internet....Read More
