Likes

Qualified faculties, smart rooms, good studying ambience
There is a multigym, yoga centres, big playing fields
They instill spiritual values, and have sports events quite often

Dislikes

The food menu could be a little more varied
The should incorporate some relaxation on homevisits.
There is hardly anything that I dislike about this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was already very interested in economics. My college has a healthy student to teacher ratio. For every 1teacher there is 4 students. Almost of our faculties have phD and master's done. The faculty is very interactive and makes sure the concepts are clear The exams are fairly standard and the exam timings are optimal.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 9600 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is minimal. A minimal cost for hostels and tuition fees is fairly low. I do not have any financial assistance for the time being. Although i am qualified for a couple of scholarships but i won't avail them.

Campus Life

There are couple of exhibitions of different courses they offer. The library is not only well equipped with academic books but also with books of other fields of liking. All the classrooms have project setups and smart boards.

Hostel Facilities

The room is ultra modern. The food provided in the hostels are quite nutritious and good if you wish to bulk up. The menu is varied everyday it's high quality food. Hostel is quite close to new garia and smart bazaar which makes buying everyday amenities good.

Hostel Fee: INR 38400 per year

Admission

The admission process for ramakrishna residential college was quite challenging but i did my homework well enough to land a seat in my college. My college is ranked 19th in India and so I knew I had to apply to this college, the admission fees as far as I remember was 1k. I do not have any reservations and haven't taken any benefits. There is little to say about the things that I wish this college had. It has god state of the art infrastructure, the faculties are the top notch, a very efficient library system. The food quality of the hostels are surprisingly good. My time in here is very fruitful.

good lecture halls , excellent labouratory facility to all students,good hostel accomodation as double sharing
sport communuties,different competetions like quizes,inter competions in sportes
good faculty,good campus life and quality of social interactions

Dislikes

in iisers there is a less scope of placement oppurtunities
fee is also quite more if we emtered via test
biology background students need to learn maths and maths background students also need to study biology

curriculum is purely different as compared to different engeneering institutions . as it is autonumous instiution it as different curriculum and this curriculum is very binefit to students as improve their own skills.

Likes

IIT Kharagpur doesn't discriminate among girls and boys. all the rules and regulations are same for both the gender.
Campus has a very beautiful night life you can roam inside the campus with your friends on a cycle and explore campus beauty
IIT Kharagpur has a very good infrastructure it has 2100 acre campus and provides facilities like a central library which operates 8am to 12pm.

Dislikes

poor connectivity form the city like if you want to catch a flight you have to go to kolkata that is around 110 km from campus.
Being the oldest iit some buildings are very old and need maintenance hostel rooms feels very old and boring.
some times people feels very loaded academics and i feel that pressure is quit higher here

Placement Experience:

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

Life at IIT Kharagpur

Likes

Institute has different number of clubs where students can connect with a bunch of like minded people.
The fests are way engaging in the whole January month.
Activities in the hostels are highly interactive and make yourself get out of comfort zone

Dislikes

Mess food depends on the hostel you have alloted.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the campus are good. Most of the tech companies allow all the branches to sit for the tests. Eligibility criterial for many companies is around 7 CGPA. The average package is around 15 LPA. 90%of registered students get placed

Huge campus of 2100 acres with a lot of greenary
Good sports facilities for tennis badminton table tennis etc.
A lot of shops for buying books food etc.

Dislikes

Mess food is hit or miss some hostel hv very bad food
Campus so huge that cycling will make u tired .
Professor are great acc to wht I got but some say not all that gud

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Courses now deal more on chemistry related stuff. No need for course improvement Frequency is near end and mid sem there will be exams mode

Life at IIT KGP

Likes

The campus is complete in itself. Although it is in a small town Kharagpur, we have everything available inside the campus.
The campus is lush green with very positive energy.
Campus has all the facilities for all kind of activities. We have two big auditorium, a running track, a big swimming pool and may other things to pursue your habits

Dislikes

The girl to boy ratio is very very poor.
The campus is very competitive and demands your constant efforts. If you don't perform as per the requirement, you might get stressed.
The campus is in outskirts and we don't have immediate access to the city. Although we can go to kolkata but it is still far.

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Campus is quite good. Seniors are really good. And no ragging at all.
Wifi is unlimited, you can watch YouTube and other websites but gaming is Blocked in this wifi. And porn websites are also blocked and that is quite good for new students
Computer centre is always open 24/7 . You can go there and study on your desktop freely.

Dislikes

Some of professors are not good . Like i was in physics department and i really didn't like some professors because of there attitude and lack of sincerity.
Hostel management is not quite good. Lack of washing machine and improperly managed
Food in the mess. Mess food is not so special there. It is below normal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum are different for different departments students. Like i was in physics department,, they give assignment, quizes and and midsem and endsem and the marks their varry depending on the course teacher decision. I selected physical science and i am quite satisfied with my course selection as the lab experience was very good. Teacher take 2 or 3 teaching assistant to help the students in the classroom, Teaching assistant are actually seniors and they help students in very friendly way.

I like the way we celebrate the festivals of all communities together.
Here you're free to do anything so it's kinda positive thing.
You get chance to participate in different club activities.

Dislikes

Firstly i dislike the dominance of one community.

Placement Experience:

It's a research Institute so no one really thinks about placements but still there's a placement cell in college and it tries it's best get as many company as they can... Placements are decent in chemistry maths and biology

The placement in Our college is quite good.Normally around 80% of the people get placed through CDC which is the on campus organisation that connects students with companies.The placement cell even provides some foreign internships and jobs due to immense amount of connections they have around the world.They even conduct workshops to help the students know about the industry and acquire soft skills which are needed to get placed.

IIT KHARGPUR- WORTH IT?

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.

Statistics Honours at Ramakrishna Mission Residential College(Autonomous)

There a certain criteria to get admission to this college. 1)You must have a certain cut-off mark in your board exam(HS). If you have then you are eligible for the entrance test. 2) After clearing the test you will be qualified for admission here. Within a few months(2 or 3) after the board exam, the online form filled up for the admission test starts on the college's website. You just have to visit a few times on the college website after the board exam for admission details and exam dates.
