Likes
- Location of the college is in the main busy part of the city.
- It shares the campus with one of the oldest running schools in India. The greenery and scenic sunset is really heart-warming.
- The college Library, Canteen and common rooms for both boys and girls are also decent. The field is also available for cricket and football.
Dislikes
- The policy of not allowing to grow beard and hair for boys.
- The dress code/uniform. The crowd and no alumni network.
- Some faculty members are not too good. Some laboratory and there old equipments.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted be an engineer since class 9. And wanted to work in the software development field. Observation the boom of AI, I opted for Bachelor of Technology in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Only faculty per subject in a classroom of 60 students. Faculty are qualified adequately. Smart board and PPT running during the class. Green Board teaching is fruitful. One internal exam per month. Difficulty level increases progressively.
Internships Opportunities
The internship which you might get in 4th sem is unpaid which was by Cognizant. The internship which you should get in 6th is sometimes paid. And if paid it is inadequate. But your attendance will not counted during the internships. And your attendance fine is not paid off. Projects are really helpful for placement and the faculty is also cooperative.
Placement Experience
Placement season starts after 6th. But you might get internships in 6th and 4th by Mass recruiters if you are lucky enough. Cognizant and Wipro are the Mass recruiters. Companies like Blue Star also comes. Highest package has been offered by AWS in 2020 for 1.2Cr. A decent percentage of students gets placed by this college. But due the recession in IT, the placement season has not started yet. And had a huge impact on the placement situation. I would most likely opt for job in my desired field. As of now, I don't have any serious plans for Post- graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees Structure In 2021 & 2022 - 1st Sem : 65,500(Including 10000 refundable. Caution Deposit) 2nd Sem : 44,500 3rd Sem : 45,500 4th Sem : 46,500 5th Sem : 47,500 6th Sem : 47,500 7th Sem : 48,500 8th Sem : 48,500(?500 development fees and the rest is tuition fees) In 2023 - The fees has been increased by 20,000 per semester approximately. No hostel service available. But affordable PGs are easily available nearby. SVMCM, OASIS, AIKYASHREE and STUDEND CREDIT CARD scholarship available for domicile students only. Decent placement through the college. Currently in 2nd Year, and placement season starts after 6th sem.
Campus Life
Farewell is given every year by the junior students only. Freshers has started since 2023. Only one Tech Fest or Coding Event per year. Both in collaboration of Students and Teachers. Debates, Quizzes, Poster Making, Writting and Model Making Competition is there. Books related to subjects, engineering, software, mathematics and best-sellers of famous can be issued from the library for free. CCTVs, Projectors, Notice Board and Green Board are present in classrooms. Annual Athletic Sports is held every year. Along with Badminton, Cricket, Football and Table-Tennis Competition. As of now IEEE is the only group run by students and teachers. Which covers innovative, engineering, electronics and electrical fields. Rest of the clubs are majorly run by teachers cover the other domains of culture, literature, etc.
Admission
Eligibility : Science with Maths in Secondary and Higher-Secondary. Atleast 50% in all subjects. Application : Only after qualifying for cut-off through WBJEE, JEE or Management Quota. Form : Given by the only during the counselling process. Reservation : TFW only for WBJEE candidates residing in West Bengal. 5-10% reserved in every branch. Improvement : The cut-off should be raised.
