Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and it is improving day be day. Faculty teaches well and also recommends reference books to learn and explore more..they actually helps and support in every aspect. They also conduct class tests to boost our preparation and the level of mid and end exams are upto level..like student can write well if they have preparation somehow.

Class Size: 160Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

As a general category student, I can say fee structure for general students includes all types of fees without any reimbursement. It will be almost 1 lakh per semester For other students who are having reservations. fee reimbursement will be there for some students and scholarships will also be provided you can find more detailed information on fee structure(in nitrkl website)

Campus Life

Fests of the college include.. cosmopolitan usually held in January, it is a multi-ethnic fest where students of different types of regions of India will represent their own culture of the area they live in. Then nitrutsav will be held in Feb/March It is a literature and cultural fest. Furthermore vriddhi..held in October is a sports fest (participants from various colleges nearby) Finally, the Innovision: The tech fest and major fest of nit Rourkela..various tech activities and fun activities will be there.. Coming to the library management. it is well and good..we can take any book from the library we need and some due date will be provided to submit it. Classrooms are perfectly fine and well-ventilated. we usually get a friendly atmosphere here for reading. Coming to Clubs there are more than 40 clubs under 4 societies named sports, cultural and literary, technical, film and music

Admission

College counseling is based on jee mains rank.we have to apply it through josaa(have to keep order of colleges according to our preference of college and respective branch) After counseling we have to visit respective college websites for further process of registration in that particular college..there you can find the details of college and fee structure of college and application dates.

Likes

The environment of KIIT is best for student as their are students from all over India you learn many things other than just your course.
The college life for the students at KIIT is awesome as the architecture of the university is designed for students to explore every possible thing required by any student.
The fest of KIIT is just best the students enjoy those days the most.

Dislikes

As for me their are no flaws that I can say I dislike in KIIT.

Placement Experience:

The placement was quite good. The one who is disciplined and willing to get placed and surely get placed and the total average was around six LPA and the highest package was 53 LPA, which was offered by the atlassian

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

Teaching style of faculty is excellent and related to practical based
Infrastructure of collage is just excellent and view is stunning

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem of completion eligible to sit in placement called by campus placement in university. Companies like accenture, techmahindra,tech bee,and wipro comes for hiring. Highest package till now is 29 lpa and lowest is 1.5 lpa. Average package is 5lpa. Mostly 80 percentage of students getting placement from campus drive. My plan after getting degree is getting job from campus drive.

From sixth semester you are eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Tata power, Adani, OPTCL and others.The highest package for electrical engineering is 10 lacs. 60percent marks is required for getting placement.

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. The course is based on josaa counselling seat allotment. You have to clear jee mains with high marks and percentile to get into this college. You know the competition of jee mains and advanced. Internship-first step to placement.

The course requires us to clear jee mains in which the cutoff is above 90 percentile for general category. The form is found on NTA website and fees is about 1000 rs for general category. The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
