What Students Say

Likes

I liked the environment as all the students, teachers and seniors we friendly and helping.
The college has a vast area and different building for each departments.
Eco friendly rules and regulations and the surroundings were clean.

Dislikes

Some departments has not good infrastructure and washrooms.
Difficulties in placement opportunities as not much company visits it.
Some Teachers were quite irregular and seemed so ignorant of syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I was interested in computer and softwares. Faculty was nice and helping with good teaching method. Exams were not much difficult to pass and it took place every 6 months for semesters exams.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 35000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees were not much as it was low in compared to other universities. It was 23k for even sem and 11k for odd sem didn't get any scholarship but anyone can apply for scholarships and can get financial assistance.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is a vibrant tapestry of social interactions, academic pursuits, and extracurricular engagements. There were yearly sports week and extra curricular activities as well as other programs. various social groups were also there for the interested students.

Admission

Any 12th passee student can apply for the course. Admission processing was easy. you can apply through CUET exam. Reservations are also available. No improvement needed as I didn't face any difficulties.

Thoughts regarding my college

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement in 5th semester.Various companies come for placement like HDFC bank and more.The package that was offered was around 2lpa in 2024.During our time placement drive was organised in 5th semester but the companies demanded immediate joining which was not possible for us to join since we were already left with one more semester to complete .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a little bit of interest in computers from my childhood. When I grew up the interest is increased a little bit more. After completing my HS I decided to take admission in the Computer science program. Then one of my friends suggested me to take admitted to Madhab Choudhary college, BARPETA for the BCA course. Our faculty : student ratio is 1:15 . Our Both two facilities had completed master degree course in Computer Application . I will not say that they are give their best to teach us but they are good in teaching . After every 5 month they conduct sessional exam . And the final exam is held in every six month of period . There is little bit moderate to pass the examination .

Placement Experience:

I think the percentage needed to get the placements is above 90%. I am planning on doing my master's too in this college but if I get placement after my BCA I will do my master's in open university. That is my pan so far.

Admission process is fairly simple.Students interested in this course can fill the admission form and will be selected based on their merit in higher secondary which should be 45% minimum (for general and OBC) and 40% for SC/ST. They should've mathematics/statistics/CAES as one of their subjects.

Remarks:

The study is good for self financed courses but the fees is high,teachers are good and everhelping. Office and library staff is lazy. The building is good with 24 hour electricity. Classes are well equipped with mics and projector. The competition is very high to get into this college

Remarks:

Our college is one of the known and best college in Assam. It is a college of Britain times. Here ,every student and faculties co-operate. The needs of student and teachers are equally valued.and just that the infrastructure is poor though since it has turned into University now there are work in constructions are going on.

The college is undisciplined ,the are many holidays without any reason, students are seen to walk across the whole college during classes and mobile phone is allowed in the class, they are making calls in the class

Well as per as the management side is concern there no conclusion left behind the management is very good we got our regular class on time and the overall maintenance is very good as per as the college management is concern.

True aspects on a University

I choosed the college after my 12 th as I didn't want to lose this year at home studying online for any entrance. But fir sure I will be giving entrance fir other better college . Review of the oldest University of Assam , cotton University

Admission for master's is done through an entrance exam. The form for it is available on the university website. Eligibility is decided through the entrance score. Of the total seats in each department, 50% are reserved for students from the Cotton University itself, and the rest 50% are for students from other universities. The 50% of seats reserved for university students are given based on merit (cgpa of bachelor's). And the seats for students from other universities are decided by the entrance score. Cotton university graduates get 50% of the seats. of which 2% is for OBC. 2% is for SC and another 1% is for ST.
