Course Curriculum Overview

2

I choose computer science and engineering because i love coding. I expected a lot from the university but there's a big difference between expectations and reality. The curriculum isn't as good as expected. I expected something better in terms of academics. The professor aren't as good as expected. Being one of the best universities in the state i expected a lot.but the college didn't matched with my expectations

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement in this University is moderate. Last year a package of 12 lpa was offered and you can expect a total 4 lpa to 6lpa. I don't have proper idea of companies visited but I think cognizat, L&T, wipro, TCS etc etc. placement wise college isn't very good. I want to start a business after my degree.I don't have very much hopes from the college so I'll try getting off campus placement

Fees and Financial Aid

My total fee in one year is approx 90000. Where 44700 is the fee of one semester. In odd semester there is university related fee and it is a total of 1700. And State students can get scholarship but there's nothing for the students belonging to other states atleast i didn't got anything. But some seniors said that there used to a scholarship scheme earlier.this college is best for punjab students because they can get PMS scheme and a lot of other scholarship.

Campus Life

2.5

There are some fests called aagaz, a youth fest, savishkar, and a lot of other events. The Libray is very good, infact it is the best in this University. But still not all the books are available in the library. Sports events are conducted regularly. There are not very much clubs and only a few are active. So clubs aren't that much active. Campus life isn't good as expected

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel facility is the worst. Rooms aren't as good as expected. There are a total of 3 boys that are allocated to boys only and 2 hostels that are available for girls.but the condition of hostels is worst. No cleanliness,no security, nothing literally nothing. And the food provided in the mess is worst there are a total of two messes but its totally messed up. If i have the option to rate in minus i would have given it minus 10

Admission

Eligibility: 75% marks in 12th standard for computer science and engineering and A score of JEE is considered and there is also direct counseling where one can get cse very easily. For admission i have to go through online counselling conducted by the university itself, University charged 2000 rupees for this counseling which was non refundable and that fee was managed later from the semester fee if you get admission in the college.I didn't got any reservation as i Belong to general category. There isn't any specific timing for exams the management is totally messed up. exams are barely conducted according to the academic calendar.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I couldn't afford the fee

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
