Likes
- I liked the fee structure of my college and that it will mot stop you to sit in exam even if you haven't submitted the fees. But 500 fine will be included with your fees every month.
- Various club opportunities are there to explore and become social and make more connection with people.
Dislikes
- There is not much diversity of students in my college. Most students are from bengal and bihar
- Teachers start to teach in bengali language many times and that is so annoying and if ypu will knock them they will say that you have to learn bengali as you are in west bengal.
- If there is viva time and you will answer the questions in bengali then teacher will not say anything and will give you marks but if ypu answer the questions in hindi they will say to speak in English. I feel so discriminated at the moment
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate 8/10.The curriculum offers learning various types of computer languages like python , java, C, DSA etc along with DBMS, OS, OOPs etc. And these are so interesting subjects as I want to become a software engineer. There are some more subjects like biology, mathematics, software engineering, compiler design that helps us understand the inside world of computer as well as teaches us to tackle real world scenarios. There are some subjects that consumes tine and doesn't add value to the IT course like economics, industrial management, etc. I think these subjects should be removed from thr curriculum so that we could get extra time to study technical subjects. The exams occur frequently. There are 4 class assessmentand 2 practical exams and 1 final practical exam along with the final semester exam. These exams consumes time but also prepares us to adapt the habit to give exam and that is a good thing. The difficulty level increase with every next exam and it's not that difficult
Placement Experience
My college gives almost 100% placement nut as it is a recession period so the placement rate is slower than before. The average package is 4-5 lakhs and the heights on campus package is 8-10 lakhs. If you select offer later for one company then you cannot sit for other companies on campus but you can apply for n number of companies off campus. The comapies start to come in 4th year starting that is from july. The profile offered for IT branch is mostly software developer and web developer. I will sit for the placements both off campus and on campus and I will do job for 2 years after that I will go outside india for my masters and will come back and join a job in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
My college I affordable and it provides the loan facility which is so helful but my department IT is not NBA Acerrifed that's why I can't get student loan as I am from outside west bengal . Currently I am in 6th sem but I have paid upto 3rd sem only as my economic condition is quite not good. The few structure is 4 lakhs 92 thousands for 4 years excluding the living expenses. It doesn't provide it's own hostel. Scholarship is been given to the state students of West Bengal and there is no scholarship for outsider students.
Campus Life
The infrastructure of my college is so so type. It's not like the dream college we want but according to it's fees it's okay. College life was not that great as my department is not flexible in case of attendance it is very strict. There are so many clubs like samaritans, samarth, eclectica, geekonix and many more based on different ideas. The classroom is a normal classroom with green board and chowk. There is a sports club which offers sports but there is no hype for anything. Books and journals are not provided easily in the library. You have to take the refferal of a senior or teacher to get the book of your choice . So overall I am not very happy with this college.
Hostel Facilities
There is no own hostel of my college that i miss a lot as friends can make more memories together. Currently I live in a 2bhk flat with a rent of 13000 divided in 4.we have to pay bills for rent, maid who cook the good, electricity bill, swipper bill, groceries bill and etc. I live in a 2 sharing room with a normal ceiling fan and a cupboard and nothing more accessories. A cook come to cook food for us and it's taste is okayish as you cannot get ghar ka khana in hostels. I live 1.8 km away from college in Ck block sector 2 .
Admission
To get admission into my college that is Technk Main Salt Lake first we have to fill an application form of WBJEE(West Bengal joint entrance examination). In 2021 that form was released in February 2021 and the entrance exam was held on 11 july '21. Center will be given only inside West Bengal which is quite annoying as in 2021 there was covid but still I have to go to Kolkata to give the exam. Selected students list is released after a month and i got a rank of 5132. Cutoffs for every college differ. At my time to get admitted to IT branch rank should be under 7000 .There are 3 rounds to get the desired college, and the final round is the spot round. I got Techno in the first round. I didn't like the concept of physical verification after the first round even if you dont want to take admission but still you have to go to West Bengal to verify yourself. Apart from it everything was good.Thankyou
