What Students Say

Likes

The college environment is good. College is surrounded by mountains and full of nature.
There is avery sports including indoor games also which I liked.the most.
Some faculties are good and they know how to teach.

Dislikes

In every semester there is new rules are implemented like if you fail in internal you have to re appear it next year by paying 300 per subject.
Placement scenario is also not good. Fake placement are giving by college. Once you got placed you can't sit on any other campus.
If you will not pay money by the due date you have to pay fine of 1000.

Course Curriculum Overview

University conduct exam in very smooth manner. In between semester two internal are conducted. Student have to secure pass mark to sit in the semester examination. And students must have attendance not less than 80 percentage. In every semester there is new rules are implemented like if you fail in internal you have to re appear it next year by paying 300 per subject.

Internships Opportunities

College is providing internship but for that you have to pay. One institution is there Lagazon edutech which is providing internship for Data analytics. The cost for internship is 4000. Also you can do internship outside. Some faculties are good and they know how to teach.

Placement scenario is not good. College are bringing company which is providing offer letter but not joining letter. The Average package is 3lpa. 50% of students are getting placement. We are cse background students but college bringing companies like BPO, technical support, Consultant, Sales company.

Fees and Financial Aid

GIET UNIVERSITY offers campus to students. Big MNC like TCS , Infosis, Tech Mahindra , Wipro etc. Come for Students recurring. Last year the highest package was 13 LPA. And average package offered to student was 4.5 LPA.

Campus Life

Many Clubs are run by students in the campus permisis like PDCS Club (Personal Development And Communication Skill) For development of personal skills of students. Also NSS club is there for social work. Many more clubs are there like SARS club etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is also good. There is separate hostel for 2st year students. After that you have to shift to another hostel where 2nd year 3rd year and 4th year students are there. Food in the hostel is manageable.

Hostel Fee: INR 72000 per year

Likes

The environment of KIIT is best for student as their are students from all over India you learn many things other than just your course.
The college life for the students at KIIT is awesome as the architecture of the university is designed for students to explore every possible thing required by any student.
The fest of KIIT is just best the students enjoy those days the most.

Dislikes

As for me their are no flaws that I can say I dislike in KIIT.

Placement Experience:

The placement was quite good. The one who is disciplined and willing to get placed and surely get placed and the total average was around six LPA and the highest package was 53 LPA, which was offered by the atlassian

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

Likes

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

Likes

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem, students are eligible almost 100 companies visited including IBM, VISA, Infosys, DE Shaw etc. Highest is 63 LPA and avg is 12-13LPA 90% placements I may consider doing MBA if I dont get very big package

The excellent university of odisha

Likes

Teaching style of faculty is excellent and related to practical based
Infrastructure of collage is just excellent and view is stunning
The playground facility is excellent and love to play different games

Dislikes

Lab facilities of this university is not good and ordered
Placement scenario is not fair and political affair is including
Must of faculty members are belongs to home state

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem of completion eligible to sit in placement called by campus placement in university. Companies like accenture, techmahindra,tech bee,and wipro comes for hiring. Highest package till now is 29 lpa and lowest is 1.5 lpa. Average package is 5lpa. Mostly 80 percentage of students getting placement from campus drive. My plan after getting degree is getting job from campus drive.

From sixth semester you are eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Tata power, Adani, OPTCL and others.The highest package for electrical engineering is 10 lacs. 60percent marks is required for getting placement.

Likes

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

GIET AND IT'S INSIGHTS

I have not applied for any other colleges as I have left with no choice at the end for pursuing Btech and I have not scored good in JEE as I wasn't preparing for opting BTech.So for choosing private colleges in odisha I chose this because the place is remote and it is heard that the climate is very pleasant. The admission process starts at the month of May an amount of 20000 for seat reservation is taken which will be reduced from the final fees i.e. 2,39,000 when you come to the college admission that helds in the month of July inside the campus. The students and parents should come with the credentials required for the admission which are copies and originals of student's adhaar card, 10th and 12th marksheet, Migration certificate, Father's adhaar card . Due to good faculty and provide good facility in laboratory for any kind of research.Education system is high profile level.24 hour open large library due to this system no money is spend in purchasing book.other training classes also available there.international conference are attained every year. study tour facility also available.some social services also provided by the institute.
