Campus Life is beautiful. There's lots of space in the campus to cycle and enjoy a scenic view.
Hostel is vast with 1000 rooms. It is a nice place where I spend most of my time

Dislikes

Exams are stressful and consecutive always.
Mess food is sometimes repetitive and disgusting
The politics and zonism over here gets toxic sometimes

I had choosed this branch because I was getting this on the basis of my JEE main score. My curriculum is about different metal extraction process and material science. We have 2 exams per semester. There's a midsem and an endsem. The total score is added to calculate our SG

Internships Opportunities

Some of the software companies for internships are Barclays, Microsoft, Bisayre, Oracle which are premium recruiters with stipend around 80000- 150000. Projects must include DSA and development for software roles. For analytics- Practal is a premium recruiter. For this projects must include numbpy python and some case studies

Placement Experience

Students become eligible after 6th semester. I don't have much idea as I'm in 4th semester currently. But recruiters like mathworks, Oracle, BNY mellon, Barclays, texas instruments, qualcot, L&T, jindal steels etc are some names. Highest package last year was of 1 crore from ceramic department. In metallurgy around 70% student get placed. 100% placement was from ceramic and food processing

Fees and Financial Aid

There's no recent hike in the tution fee as per my notice. The complete cost is within one lakh only per semester. It is a very less amount as compared to private colleges. I haven't taken any campus responsibility/job.

Campus Life

There are 4 fests that occur in our campus in an academic year. The technical fest named Innovision, the multi ethnic fest "cosmopolitan" , the cultural fest "nitrutsav", the sports fest "vriddhi". Our Library is vast with 3 floors, and all types of books and journal is accessible here. There's a SAC which governs all the clubs and fest activities. It runs by the executive members elected by the students.

Hostel Facilities

Their are two girls hostel in the camous. The one I live in has dual accomodation in one room. It is a very small room with space for only 2 beds and a shelf and 1 table and a chair. Depending upon individual room size 2 tables can also be accommodated. The mess food is pretty descent as compared to other college's hostel food. The room is alloted as soon as you register for the course and the hostel alloted.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

The application process included clearing an exam called JEE Mains. To be eligible for this one has to score above 75% in 12th boards. The application form can be found from the nta website where you've to register for the exam. The exam is conducted twice in an year. And the difficulty level fluctuates according to each shift. One can get admitted to NITs on the basis of their JEE Mains score. For a decent branch, one has to score around 96-98 percentile in general category.

College students are friendly and affordable

They discriminate between girls and boys always
Discriminate between locals and others mainly if you are from Bihar

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

Likes

The infrastructure of each campus in the college is very pretty and it's a green campus
The classrooms are well equipped with WiFi, Smart-boards for digital education.
Also travelling from one campus to another has been made easier as buses and golf carts are provided to students

Dislikes

The crowd of students here is too much which feels too much chaotic and disturbing .
The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.
The hostel mess food. The quality is degrading day by day

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college is good. This year 75% of the students are already placed with an average package of 8LPA . The highest package till now for this year is 22LPA. Many companies have visited for the placements and 100+ offers have been made. Companies like BNY, Infosys, Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Bain& Company, High Radius, TCS, EY, PWC and many more of them have visited the campus.

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Beautiful campus with lot's of space and with good computer labs
They conduct exam in very smoothly manner

Dislikes

Need to improve administrative building while submitting fees many students face problem
Lab session of some subjects are too long which is around 3 hrs which need to reduce for atleast 2 hrs

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. The college has an active placement celll that supports students by Organizing training sessions, resume building and also mock interviews.

From sixth semester you are eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Tata power, Adani, OPTCL and others.The highest package for electrical engineering is 10 lacs. 60percent marks is required for getting placement.

My college is best

Likes

Things I like is to good faculty, garden.
VSSUT provides the best amenities and bathrooms.
Excluding hostel & other facilities are like good.

Dislikes

The water quality is not good at all from mess side.
The drainage system is not maintained well.
The surroundings are not clean and the guarda are strict.

Placement Experience:

Some say that the celllege has better placements, but that the salary is not very lucrative. Infosys, Tata Steel, IBM, Wipro, Cisco Systems, Larsen and Cognizant, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group. My plans are to go to better iim for mba

The professor who taught in our class they are taught is best In teaching.
They provide you many opportunities to work upon on you.
The infrastructure of college is good and huge.

Dislikes

The campus is very vast, and you have to walk for every minute of work.
The are very serious about your study and what you are doing
The gate get closed if you get came late even it's 5-10 minute late.

Placement Experience:

It's good as many company come but the placement directly depend on your study and hard work of your 4 year and a pre placement also conduct in 3rd year where you can also get placed. For placement the student should secure 8-10 cgpa for sit in interview exam.

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. Internship-first step to placement.

The course requires us to clear jee mains in which the cutoff is above 90 percentile for general category. The form is found on NTA website and fees is about 1000 rs for general category. The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
