Entrance Preview
As I joined in 1997, there was no entrance exam at that time. Admission to Engineering courses was on the basis of PCM marks in 12th exam only. It was centralized admission process started in the same year and was new experience for us.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was newly structured curriculum started by University of Pune from that year. So no reference of previous exam papers was useful in our exams. In few papers, we even had no option in paper and all questions were compulsary !
Internships Opportunities
Being sandwich course, we had compulasry 6 months industrial inplant training. Placement for same was very poor at that time and we had to compromise whatever options we get else search the company on your own.
Placement Experience
Placement officers used to change and we witnessed 2-3 officers in 4 years ! Placements were poor. I recall that we had hardly 3-4 campus interviews that time.
College Events
We had nice annual event called Shivanjali normally in December / January. It was wonderful gathering for all of us. It used to last 2-3 days. Sponsorships from outside used to be taken to make event bigger. Apart from that there were few "days" but it was not that passion that everybody will come like that attire (Traditional day etc.) Being engineering students we had quite less time to celebrate these "days"
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees that time was quite less compared to now. For free seats it was just Rs. 8,000/- a year and paid seat it was Rs. 32,000/- Exam fees was also not very high and could be paid easily.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship / loan was being offered by college. Also fees was quite less and hence no educational loan was taken by us.
Campus Life
Being engineering course, our schedule was very tight and hectic. We could hardly spare much time apart from our courses, assignments, submissions, projects etc. We had very less guest lectures, workshops being offered by college which I believe it is must.
Hostel Facilities
As I was living in the same city, I did not use hostel and mess. Also it was not available with the college at that time.
Alumni/Alumna
Our college mates are now spread and very few of them are in contact. We have WhatsApp group where we interact and meet sometimes. Our seniors that time were helpful. I proudly say that we had no ragging cases in all those years as it was banned and college used to take utmost care.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was newly designed and semester wise papers had to be given. Internal exams were conducted before semester exam by University.
Faculty
Few faculty members had wonderful experience and passion to teach. Most of them may have retired from college as it is 14 years after passing the course.
