Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The LPU curriculum for my Computer Science program excelled in its balance between relevance and comprehensiveness. The coursework's in-depth exploration of **fundamental data structures** like trees, graphs, and hash tables, along with their practical applications in algorithm design and problem-solving, solidified my decision to enroll. The program effectively equips students for real-world scenarios by incorporating **case studies** that showcase how these data structures are used in modern software development.

Internships Opportunities

4

Lovely Professional University (LPU) boasts a strong network for internships. Companies like TCS and Wipro recruit interns for roles in software development and data science. These internships often involve real-world projects, like developing mobile applications (TCS) or data analysis dashboards (Wipro). Stipends can vary depending on the company and role, but typically range from ?12,000 to ?18,000 per month. LPU's internship program provides valuable experience and helps students build their resumes before entering the workforce.

Placement Experience

3.5

LPU's placements are impressive. From the first semester, career prep kicks in with mock interviews and skills development. Top companies like Cognizant and Infosys recruit on campus, offering roles in software development and IT. The average package hovers around ?5 LPA, with the highest reaching a stellar ?3 Crore. With a high placement rate, LPU fosters career prospects. Personally, I aim to leverage these opportunities to land a software developer role at a reputed firm.

Fees and Financial Aid

Understanding LPU's costs is key. Tuition varies by program and increases annually (specific rate on their website). Expect additional charges for the hostel, library, and exams. Scholarships like LPUNEST (mention your scholarship and its %/amount reduction) can ease the burden. While I haven't used them, on-campus work-study programs offer stipends for tasks like assisting faculty.

Campus Life

4

LPU's campus life thrives beyond academics. From the electrifying innovation showcase at the annual tech fest "Tech-Tikka" (February) to the vibrant cultural extravaganza "One World" (October), excitement fills the air. The vast library offers a wealth of books and journals, both online and in print, readily accessible for research. Classrooms boast modern technology, creating a dynamic learning environment. Extensive sports facilities cater to diverse interests, while clubs like the "Photography Club" and the "Debate Society" nurture hidden talents. Student-run groups like "LPU Pulse" and online portals foster a strong sense of community, allowing students to connect and share experiences.

Admission

My journey to Lovely Professional University (LPU) began with researching their program offerings. The website clearly outlined eligibility criteria for each course, making it easy to determine if I qualified. The application process itself was entirely online, which I found convenient. However, navigating the initial steps could have been smoother – a more intuitive layout on the application portal would be helpful. Overall, the admission process was efficient, but improvements can be made. A more user-friendly application portal and readily available, detailed information on LPUNEST would enhance the experience for future applicants.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
