Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is well assessed. It helps the students in getting the basic ideas on the first semester and then those topics are expanded upon during the coming semesters. They also add new areas of study in every semester. Other subjects are also given from different departments.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is reasonable at ?9443 per semester. It costs about ?12943 per semester for all combined services. Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit and family income. There are not many opportunities for placement in the Humanities Departments.

Campus Life

There is a science fest, "inSCIgnis" that happens every year in February. A discontinued technology fest has also been revived this year. The library provides a plethora of books and a quiet environment for studying. There are classroom and lecture halls that are equipped with smartboards and projectors. Sports and extracurricular activities are held all throughout the year. But it is more significant during Varsity Week which happens in February every year. There are various groups and clubs like Quiz club, poetry club, various sport clubs and many more

Hostel Facilities

The room has three cupboards, two beds, two chairs and two tables for each student. The meal quality is decent and food is provided three times each day. The hostel fee is ?3500 per semester and an additional amount of ?2000- ?2500 is to be paid every month as mess fees

Admission

Merit list is based on the student's performance in CUET or TUEE. All required links can be found on the official Tezpur University website. Reservation are provided for EWS, OBC(NCL), ST, SC and PWD applicants. There are four exams that happen in one semester.

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

I was interested in political and it influenced me set my decision to choose this course. The curriculum was good enough to prepare me for further academics. The frequency and timings of exams are regular. The difficulty of the exams depends on the student's preparations

Likes

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

When I saw a professor doing the hypnotize process. The curriculum activities are much help to the future or the present generation. For the course curriculum, it is huge so deep explanation is required. No problem in this aspect.

I like the way the teachers of our department interact with us. They are very friendly. The campus is very good. We had sitting place for students to sit and relax when they don't have classes. We had a good playground.
The students of silapathar college are quite wonderful, friendly, helpfull.

Dislikes

Things I don't like about my college is , the principal of our college is quite rude, doesn't interact with the students. He don't even allow to enter to his office.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose English literature because I want to study literature, wants to study more about people. In our department there are very few students, 60% are girls and 40% are boys. We had four teachers in our department, namely, DR. PUBALI BORA KASHYAP (Qualification: M.A, Ph.D., UGC- NET), PREM PRASAD SHARMA (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL), Gitima Deka (Qualification: M.A., M.PHIL), Raju Pegu (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL). The teachers take tests continuously.

The admission criteria are based on 12th class grades. The examination of the 12th grade should be given from any recognized board. The admission is given on the basis of merit. For admission, anyone who has passed his/her 10+2 in any stream can apply by going to the online admission portal(website) but at the time of mine, there was no such facility so We use to go college and apply directly by filling the form(paper-based).

Remarks:

Overall, I'd say college is very good. It is one of the finest colleges in the state. I came from elsewhere to study at this college and I don't regret my decision. I made many new friends and now I am used to the environment so it will be difficult for me to leave this place.

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year .
