Course Curriculum Overview

I think this course is very effective. As a masters student the content of this course is very helpful for me , the faculty members are well experienced and give very nice explanation of the topics of the course .

Placement Experience

In this central university placement is obviously available, every year students of different branch of engineering got placement in different fields like oil , bank etc . From our department students get placement in oil . The placements are given on the basis of the results of interview.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the course I currently persue in this university is about 35000 per year . The fees was taken per semester, in the first semester I paid 18000 and in the second semester I paid 17000 . Scholarship are also available for students which have BPL card .

Campus Life

The campus of the university is very beautiful and calm. The roads are in very good condition, the gardens are well maintained, infrastructure is very well. The social environment is also very good here, different events are frequently held here. The university also provides very good facilities for sports.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are also very good, the hostel infrastructures are very good and the hygiene is also well maintained in the hostels . The food of the message of the hotels is also not bad . My overall experience of the hostel is almost nice .

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

The admission process in the course I currently pursuing, is done on the basis of the marks students scored in the exam TUEE conducted by the university , sometimes the admission is also done on the basis of the score of students in the CUET exam . I don't have anything which I dislike about the admission process .

The faculty members of our department are very helpful and all are experienced teachers and their teaching methods are also good. The interaction of the faculty members with the students is also good

A glimpse into Gauhati University's geology department

Likes

Library is good for studying and borrowing books
Campus is clean with very beautiful scenery and nature.
Faculty members are very highly trained and certified, paasing out from IITs and GSI.

Dislikes

Some of the teachers cannot teach well and needs improvement
The electrical fans are not well maintained for which it becomes hard to study during summer days
The transportation system is little weak as during classes very less no. of ev rikshaw and Auto rickshaw run.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The teachers prepare students well for jobs at different companies and gives marks based on our understanding of the subject. But some of the teachers need to interact more with the students. The internal examination are not well timed and give little time for students to study.

My College Experience

Likes

Ambience is great. The environment of college is very good and clean
Being a very old college it has a different aura. A darrangian will able to understand it
Some of the teachers are also good and also personally my department is great

Dislikes

Teaching ways is not that great. It should be improved
Most of the teachers there still follow the traditional way of teaching
Some of the classrooms are very conjusted and not enough spacious.

It is great. The curriculum of our college is very good. There are different fields where one could apply apart from studies. Like - NCC,NSS and even many cultural fields. Students who are culturally active will get a lot of opportunities here

Short and Simple

Likes

The teachers are very punctual and helpful
The surrounding is huge and almost all the daily essential are available inside the campus
Nice library and AC installed in all the classroom

Dislikes

Infrastructure can be improve and repainting is required
More extra curricular activities can be included
Quality of water is not good, iron content is high

I choose this course as nutrition is one that plays a very important role in our daily life. Moreover i have a keen interest in everything that involves food.And to explore more about food i take this subject.

Likes

It has a pleasant environment with huge trees which gives reliefs in summer days.
Bus connectivity should be improved and they are sometimes late
Infrastructure of this university is top class. Professors are well educated with PhD degree and the roads are well designed

Dislikes

Some arrogant professors and their ignorance behaviour is not suitable for students
The market inside the campus should be improved with more shops
The hospital inside the campus is in very poor condition

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason behind choosing this course is my deep interest in research area as our department shows good result in research domain .The curriculum provides us some topics that are to be deeply understood like we are imagining those topics in 3-D way and that will helps us in future aspects. The thing that need to be changed in our curriculum is course pattern itself because it lacks familiarity with CSIR - NET syllabus. The exams are held in the month of June and December and the difficulty level of the exam is from moderate to hard

Likes

The placements for M.Sc mathematics and computing students are very good here with good percentage of students placed.
The course structure of M.sc mathematics and computing is very placement supportive and interesting.
Campus is so much beautiful and have many beautiful spots . I think it is the best campus in all the IITs . It ha s lkes in it.

Dislikes

There is only ceiling fans in hostel room so in summers it may be a bit discomfort to you.
There are a lot of mosquitos during summers so it is the most annoying thing I felt.
Course structure is very hectic as you have only two years and you have to take care of academic and as well as placement

Placement Experience:

The on campus placement of this course are good with an average package of 13.6 lakhs. There are various roles in which you can get placed that is software development, data science, teaching etc. around 70% of students get placed. Many good companies such as Google Microsoft Amazon etc. comes here for recruitment

Tezpur University review

I applied for different nits but couldn't get any because my jee mains percentile was little low , i applied for GFTIs like Assam University and Tezpur University, I got seat in both of them but I chose Tezpur University because it was far more better then Assam University both in terms of academics and infrastructure. My college admits students on the basis of exams like JEE Mains , TUEE , CUET , etc. For the engineering course the students are admitted on the basis of JEE Mains and TUEE scores and the cutoff is not fixed, it changes every year .
