Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

First of all this college takes admission on the basis of jee mains ranks so its quite not in the hands of us to choose the course unless you have really good rank. But I luckily got my desired branch Information and technology specialised in Network and Information Security.Since my childhood when I got my first laptop I got really interested computers hence seeked for computer engineering. Till now the curriculum is very good and quite prepares you for industry even thou a more portion of work we have to do ourselves to get industry ready , rest I cant say much about the curriculum since the main branch oriented curriculum starts from 2nd year. Area of improvement can be that curriculum shouldn't be anything that is not required in todays market, also the coding should be taught from start and the first year curriculum should be changed to branch oriented like the IIITs . The freuquency of the examination hella lot , which includes 2 class test , 2 vivas, 1 mid and end sem in a sem.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship here is not that good for the non-technical branch. But on other hand its easy fot the technical branch to get an internship especially CSE/IT. If you have good CGPA above 8 and a good hands on DSA with a good communication skills you can get an internships easily , since companies coming for intern are less not everyone can get internship. For eg. only 10 people form a strength of 75 got an intern from my class.

Placement Experience

3.5

From third year or 5th semester the students get eligible for placement . The company that visits are quite good like facebook , google, EPIC(US), samsung, texas instrument,Goldman sachs, JP Morgan etc. According to 2022 from my knowledge , the highest package was 1.06 cr/annum and average of the college was 18 lacs/annum. 80% and above in btech got placed in this year. I am first planning to try for placement or will get into some kind of startups with the college peers. And side by side will try to get into a IIM for further MBA degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees here is hella lot which included with hostel fees and mess charges make it more worse. The complete cost of only college fee is around 10 lacs in 4 years and for hostel and mess fee its around 4.5 lacs . And others are your extra expenditures like books , travelling , pocket money etc. So, in total you can say the cost of studying here is around 16 lacs for the 4 years which is quite a large sum for a government college. There is no scholarships available from college sides , they only do provide loans via SBI branch located at their campus .The only method to avail scholarships here is via government and private schemes. So, if you are the person with financial issue go to NITs .The employment rate here used to be good but now there is decline in recent years, also the recession is one of the obstacle that is hindering the palcements recently. The stipends here students get from internship is quite good even thou everyone dont gets an internship.

Campus Life

4

Typically , here two fests are held once in a year one is around march cultural fest- The Moksha -and other around september-october the technical fest- The Resonance. The library here is quite good with lot of books and you can find any course related books here which are present in multiple numbers. Also you can find books for hobby reading . The classes here are very good for a government college with full air conditioned room and high quality table and chair . Also classes here contains smart boards for making it more easy for the teachers to teach and explore more through the internet . The sports facility here sucks for real, this college doesn't focuses on the sports well , also the sports complexes are not in good condition. But good thing is that they are now improving that portion of the college . The social interaction is also quite well here, through numerous clubs. Here you can find clubs for any of your interest , and clubs are the good part of this college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The room is spacious but old , and need renovation. But the worst part is that rooms dont have ac's (only for dasa students) which makes it harder to survive in the hot days since the college is located at the place known for its temperature spikes. But there is praises for the bathroom here, as it too good and even are accomodated with sensors for light and taps. The food here is bad and we have to depend eating from odering from outside sometimes, the menu is good only is on seeing , but in actual they provide shit. The hostel and menu charges are costly , inspite of the fact they are not providing that much good facility especially food. Therefore some students like to live in flat or PGs instead I live in hostel for now but planning to take a flat from third year

Admission

The admission process here is on the basis of Jee mains score, and the respective cut-off which is high here for general non-delhi student. Jee mains form can be filled online or offline and it is held once a year. The difficulty level of jee mains is moderate and can be cracked by just two years preparation along with your 11&12. The admission process in my perspective is good only the reservation benifits should be lowered , in case of my college the delhi reservation of 85% should be lowered to 30-40%.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio here is quite good , but sometimes for some subjects there can be some days in sems where faculty goes missing(I'm saying this only on my first year experience, rest I dont know). The impact of this only for some students who seriously studies from the profs. and for rest who depends on youtube its only the matter of attendance(which seriously sucks). The faculty here are really well qualified and do have good knowledge of their subjects, but some of them lacks in the teaching skills as they just do their teaching without interacting and go. Due to the internet and connectivity the approachability is good , and even we can approach them directly as they take your doubts seriously .Overall teachers are quite good not bad.

Interview Experience

3

For Admission I did faced a written exam called Jee mains that is conducted by National Testing Agency. And that you have to particiapte in JAC Delhi counselling , where you get your branch and college according to your jee score. My score aligned with the ITNS branch in NSUT main campus. The question were form Physics ,Chemistry & Mathematics. And mostly NCERT based plus a little bit advanced of that. Also preparing using PYQs were of great help as you can get idea which type of question you would be facing and how fast you can attempt them. There is other criterias to get in this college , but for other course like BBA,M.tech & B.Des , you can search online for the examinations held for each courses , as I dont have much Ideas about it. I prepared for the Jee mains by attendind to the jee tution/institution Allen & Unacademy and youtube learning was also of great help.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
