Likes
- Experienced Faculty and Staff. Unlike most of the other undergrad colleges, Mahindra University has lecturers who are pretty well versed and experienced in their respective subjects.
- Teaching methodology is very modern and practical. The exam system in Mahindra University is more about understanding the core subject than just pen and paper.
- Campus Lifestyle is really enjoyable especially if you’re a hosteller. The food is good and the rooms are very spick and span.
Dislikes
- More than the exams, there are more of presentations and projects which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it really hard to score in that respective subjects.
- Dont like the system of guest lectures as its hard to voice out your doubts since they change very quickly
- Fests are not regularly organised. There are only two major fests and no more fests for the whole year
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is robust but can be improved with more interdisciplinary integration, updated content, and interactive teaching methods. The exam structured is well balanced, maintaining fair level of difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
MU offers a variety of intership opportunities such as companies like wipro, cognizo etc. These oppurtunities offer many available roles which a student can choose himself. He needs to crack an interview and the stipend ranges from 5000-15000
Placement Experience
Students will become eligible for campus placements once theyre in their final year. Almost 48 companies offered job opportunities namely, Cisco, IBM, Mahindra & Mahindra etc. The heighest package was around 38 LPA and the avg placement package is 8.6 LPA
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is fixed, ie, 300000 per year, broken down to 2 semesters. One can get a scholarship up to 20% throught the entrance interview or your 12th grade marks. Hostel fee is around 2 Lakhs per year, 1 Lakh each semester.
Campus Life
There are two main fests that happen: Tarang and Aether. Tarang is the cultural fest and Aether is the techno fest. Both the fests are student organised and all the MU clubs play a huge part in these fest. The other fests that take place on campus are the fests help by the respective MU clubs. The overall campus life is really fun and helps hold a lot of memories.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fee is 2 Lakhs per year. MU provides a spacious room with a single bed, a study table and a cupboard that is wide enough to accommodate things. Fun part is you'll have to share your room with a fellow student. There are two boys hostels and two girls hostels. For the boys hostel, there are three good enough washrooms in each floor. Mess meals are good. Theres no particular registration process for hostels.
Admission
You need to have math, physics and chemistry in your 10+2 subjects and you need to have atleast 85% grade to be eligible to apply in Mahindra University. Once youve met the eligibility, you will have a campus interview where they test your basic knowledge in the subjects and also your aptitude and communication skills.
Faculty
During a class, theres a professor and theres an asst. professor. There are approximately 100-120 students in a class. The professor teaches the subject and the last 10 mins is for the doubts clearing session where the asst professor takes over. The teachers are very approachable. You can just directly visit their office before the office hours and clear your doubts. The faculty and staff are strong and experienced in their respective subjects.
