Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since I'm in computer science department with specialization in Artificial intelligence and machine learning, we have subjects related to our domain. The academics give us a strong foundation on which we can go advance on those topics and make personal projects. Even the elective subjects have helped in company tests, we had Big data and data visualisation as elective subjects. So I'd say the academics and placement go hand in hand. The laboratory part lags because students tend to copy and paste the codes and don't take time to learn on their own. Teachers appreciate timely file submission regardless of what the student has learnt. We have to mid semester tests one is held a month after new semester has started and another one is held a few days before final exams held by PTU. It's easy to score good even if you study a week or 15 days prior exams. Final exams expect you to write lengthy answers.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We become eligible for internship after 5th sem many companies visit college and almost all give Pre placement offers as well. Upon internship, placement will be offeres based on performance. Many students have already secured internship in 6th sem only.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for internship from 5th semester and placement from 6th semester. Numerous companies visit over college individually as well as due to tie up with CGC Landran amd CU. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk , Walmart ,JP Morgan , Morgan Stanley, SIHR , Watchdog ,Wissen Technologies, DBS tech, LGSoft , TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Cognizant etc. highest package was 45.5 lpa for Amazon and 37 for autodesk and 29 for adobe. average package is around 9 lpa offered 80 Percent of students get placements. I'm planning on getting college placement and start my journey as a software engineer in a tech firm.

Fees and Financial Aid

After NAAC A+ accreditation, our college fees have increased, when we took admission it was 3.6 lakh for 4 year course. Currently it's around 4 lakh. Also you have to pay separate examination fees which is around 1500 now. It'll cost less than 5 lakh for academics and accomodation depends on the student. Cgc josh is a scholarship test and it pools almost 7 crores for financial aid for bright students. Many students avail 50 to 100 percent scholarship through CGC josh test. Those students have to maintain their Cgpa to continue the scholarship benefits. I'm in my 3rd year and many companies have already visited and 4 of my classmates got placed in Autodesk and they'll be getting 37LPA post internship period. 4 others got placed in SIHR technologies for 15LPA.

Campus Life

4

We have annual fests tech fests fashion shows and freshers party and farwell party. parichay is fresher's party. Meraki is fashion show. There are many groups run by student like social media nad photography, coding, dance etc.

Admission

I took admission through direct admission process on the basis of marks secured in 12th Standard and JEE. I talked to a counselor over a phone call amd reserved my seat by paying 5000 rupees. After a few days I confirmed my seat by paying first semester fees

Faculty

4.5

There are ample number of faculties, majorly they are assistant professors but some of them are quite serious for our betterment. Every faculty provides study material which is enough to clear PTU exam with good CGPA. Our director is very helpful if we need anything for our academics as well as placement. We have separate faculties for academics and placement preparation. The placement trainers hold industrial experience which turns out to be helpful for us. We take regular mock tests on platforms like code tantra.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
