Likes
- Focus on competitive exams like GATE. I was preparing for GATE and the facilities guided me very well through the preparation and also supported during exam phase. The college exam timetables never overlapped with GATE exam dates
- Student Association activities. The Electronics and telecommunications association of students conducted many events and activities throughout the 4 years of my stay. These activities were very amusing. The department felt like a family.
- The R&D policies of college. There were policies which supported students to go to conferences, participate in courses and there were also many reimbursement programs.
Dislikes
- Bad infrastructure of washrooms. The washrooms were very badly built though the cleanliness was okayish, it needs furnishing.
- The wifi sucks. The internet barely works in any area in the college. The college wifi also provides bad connectivity.
- Bad ventilation in classrooms. The classrooms are not provided with coolers or ducts, so it heats badly. The scenario is worst in summers.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was okayish. The subjects syllabus aligns with the GATE syllabus. Though the classroom teaching of the syllabus or college examinations do not take the subject or questions to the GATE level, the curriculum is competent.
Internships Opportunities
I secured a paid internship and a PPO through campus placement. The interview process was virtual and smooth. The coordination and support from training and placement cell was commendable. The tnp cell is very supportive overall.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester onwards, students are eligible for placements. Zoho, Siemens, Ribbon Communications, TCS visited the campus. Total 8 offers are made so far and the placements are still ongoing. Highest package offered is 8.5LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available for OBC, SC, ST students. Also Siemens provides scholarship to students with weaker financial backgrounds. Another known scholarship can be availed externally. College fees for OBC is half as compared for open category students.
Campus Life
Zenith is the cultural fest of the college, it is organized every year and participation of students is highly encouraged. Prajwalan is the tech fest. Many books are available in the library. Though online accessibility of books is still not there. The wifi in the library also sucks. If you are planning to study from online materials, you better not go to the library for peace. The library environment is peaceful and newspapers are available. Sports events are enjoyable. Music clubs, Art club Dance club etc are also active.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are spacious and affordable but there's a wide range of problems alongside. The water may be cut at anytime in the 24 hours. There have been events of no drinking or bathing water available for 2-3 days. We would have to bring water from another hostel building.
Admission
One should secure good rank is MHT CET to get admission. I had 92.5 percentile. For reserved categories, lesser ranks may also get you admission. The admission process was smooth. The entrance exam is MHT CET.
Faculty
The faculty members are highly qualified as well as supportive. During mt GATE preparation, the faculty supported in every possible way. Also, the support during the project submission was very good. Another thing I liked about the faculty is that the faculty members, while teaching don't disregard doubts and always welcome fruitful discussions. We could also go to faculties' cabin to ask our doubts.
