Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is one of the key areas where DTU needs a lot of improvement. The syllabus is quite old fashioned and a lot of new age courses should be introduced. Although, in the past 2-3 years, massive improvements have been done, I still think there is a long way to go. The exams are on an average to higher level in difficulty, but that is very subjective on the branch which you opt for in your bachelors. In general, EE, ECE, and EP courses are tough to score high in, and CS, MNC, CE, BT, ME, etc are branches which are easy to score in.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The highest stipend given was by Sprinklr, which was 2 lacs per month. Most of the companies in the internship season come for SDE profiles and in general tech profiles. CGPA plays a major role in securing an internship in campus and folks with better CGPA are given a preference to sit in the placements.

Placement Experience

5

In the current batch of electrical engineering, the average package stood at about 13 lacs, which is on the lower end when compared to the previous years, due to the recession. There are two opportunities which come on campus: 1) Internship: After 4th semester 2) Placements: After 6th semester Approximate percentage of students getting placed this year would be 60-70%, but almost 100% of the students got a job through off campus route. The highest package this year is 90 lacs, given by graviton. Profiles include Tech, non-tech and core profiles.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships are one of the best parts about attending DTU, being a government college, it is no stranger to many government-funded and privately funded scholarships. Most of my classmates who struggled financially were easily able to get at least 50% scholarship on the tuition fees which came out to be around 1 lac INR. The total fees in my year were 2.15 lacs.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is the best part about DTU, where you'll get more than ample time to pursue your interests and also you'll get a lot of clubs and activities happening on campus in which you can showcase yourself. The sports facilities are at par with any other premium college in India. indoor badminton court, tennis, football cricket, sprint, pool, etc are a few of the total sports available on the campus.

Admission

The admission process was caried out by JAC Delhi, and it is a pretty straightforward process where you just rank your choices amongst the colleges which come under JAC Delhi and the branches you want to opt in them. The entrance exam for DTU is solely JEE Main, and the counselling procedure is handled by JAC Delhi, which is different than the counselling for IITs and NITs, where JOSAA handles the counselling.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty-to-student ratio is quite skewed, although I do not have the exact number but I am sure it would be more than 1:40. The credentials of the faculty members are the best part about the faculty over here at DTU, all faculty over here have at least a PHD, with most of them having PHD from IITs, DTU, NSUT, IIIT Delhi, etc. The interaction with a teacher and approachability depends upon the faculty member and is very subjective, but in general teachers are quite stiff about the students they work with.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
