Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum devised in the college in my opinion is one of the finest in the countries. Unlike other colleges, it doesn't merely entail the rote learning and examination of the concepts rather it divides the entire process of learning into steps of different manifestations throughout a semester by virtue of which a student understands the concept rather than having to rote learn it. The examination herein also evaluates the students on the basis of their understanding of the concept than memorizing of the same. Besides all of these academic endeavours, our college curriculum also promotes mooting, debating and internships actively which is another feather in the cap.

Internships Opportunities

5

Interned under Addtl. Solicitor General of India (A.S.G), Vikramjit Banerjee (1 month) • Drafted Special Leave Petition with respect to a civil matter in the Supreme Court of India. • Drafted and assisted in drafting of Legal Opinions pertaining to matters forwarded by Law Department. • Drafted other legal documents like Modification/Clarification Application for purposes of filing in the Supreme Court of India. • Read case files and prepared case briefs of the same. • Researched on different provisions of Cr.P.C, C.P.C, Constitution and other statutes. • Observed offline courtroom proceedings in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Interned under Adv-on-Record Ayush Anand at Atharva Legal, New Delhi (1 month) Interned under Sinha & Co. , Kolkata.

Placement Experience

4

There are campus placements and the college starts its placement programme after a students passes the 3rd year. Companies of great reputation like Khaitan, Ernst & Young, L&L Associates come for hiring students. Apart from these, the college internship program also helps the students to undergo long term internships and seek a Pre-placement offer. I plan to embark on the journey of litigation post my college degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is approximately around Rs. 3 lakhs per annum however there are provisions for financing and education loans for the same. The tution fees increases by 10% each year. Besides that almost 1 lakh per year is spent upon residence and fooding.

Campus Life

4

Though the college is not as huge as some colleges in the country, the quality of the infrastructure is commendable and immaculate. With ACs in the classroom and smart boards and projectors for aiding Audio- Visual learning, the college is equipped with state of the art infrastructure. The toilets in the washroom are also very clean and tidy. Besides, these there are big libraries in the college which has many books in its repository. There are many clubs as well that a student can associate herself or himself to and spend the next 5 years in developing that club and representing the college outside.

Admission

For entry in this college, Symbiosis International University conducts an All India Examination in the name of Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test. Qualifying in that exam is mandatory. After qualification, the next step is a personal interview and Writing Ability Test. After a candidate completes all the three stages, he/she is called for counselling and relevant course and seat is intimated.

Faculty

4

The faculty members in the college are individuals with esteemed academic achievements besides donning an illustrious degree to their credit. They are individuals with experience who understand the requirements of the students and cater their pedagogy as customised as possible in the classroom. Besides that the faculty members also are available for doubt clearances with regards to the subject. Not only this but they also advice the students on to the different activities that a student should entail while pursuing their degree, for example, writinng research paper, blogs, articles, doing internships and moots amongst others.

Interview Experience

4.5

Yes. There was personal interview and Writing Ability Test as a part of entrance examination in the college. The topics were of contemporary knowledge and sought the view of the student. My mode of preparation in these rounds was to be updated with the important significant events of the country and world.

Overall experience of the campus is very good. I really enjoy the studies as well as other extra-curricular activities. I am glad that I took admission here as I experience many things that I wouldn't have been able to experience in any other university. Nice friendly and peaceful atmosphere in the campus makes it the best campus. Although the placements is still a worry for us but lets hope we get the best results.
