Remarks

Good culture, good facilities but there is a lack of experienced teachers. Overall college is good.

Entrance Preview

I have heard about this college. Once I visited the college, I found a good campus and fully equipped workshops required in mechanical engineering. I took around the campus and found more satisfying. I visited the library also. There were all books available. All the things found satisfactory and this is the reason to opt GGI.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

During starting, of course, I found some difficulty. But time to time I improved my self. Teachers were helpful but not much experienced. The college provides many industrial visits to enhance the practical knowledge of the students. There was also very motivational and PD classes for the students which help me to develop my self very well.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internship, but without stipend. They provide internship mostly in the local region in north India in private companies and limited companies as well. The six-month internship was provided to me by the college.

Placement Experience

3

Placement was average and also package provided is not much satisfying. The college organises the placement week every year but placement is not much effective. Only a few placements were there. Every year average 30 to 40 companies come for placement and they provide the placement for 50 to 60 students approx. every year.

College Events

3.5

First of all, there is Freshers party is organised by the college to treat the new students. Mr Fresher and Mrs Fresher is selected in Freshers party. During Diwali, Umang festival is celebrated in which different competition is held. After that two days, technical fest Robo Mania is organised in the college. There is a lot of things to do on that day. One celebrity is invited in the star night. Last farewell party is done.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is genuine. They take the fee at the starting of the course. They also give some extension to pay the fee. They also give early bird scheme to pay the fee in which students can avail 3% discount in fee. But at the same time fine is also collected for the late fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college provides loan facility. I also availed the education loan from state bank of India. There is also good scholarships provided but only for Sc and bc category students only.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is great. There are many students from different states of India. The gender ratio is 1000:647. There is a special guest lecture once a month. There are industrial visits also conducted once a month for each department. Labs for mechanical is fully equipped with all equipment. There is robotics fest Robi mania in which robot fight is done.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is good. There is a gym in the college for the students also. But the mess is not so good and the little bit expensive all also. They provide outing once a week to the hostelers. There are good precautions taken for the security of the students.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, there is an Alumni network also. Senior students also very helpful. There is no ragging in college.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very strict. Cameras have installed in every room for surveillance. Before the exam, proper checking is done manually as well by using machines. The exam is generally of 60 marks and 40 marks are internal. First 10 questions are one line answer type of 2 marks and then 8 questions for 8 marks each and have to attempt any 5 questions.

Admission

Firstly I visited the college for the enquiry of admission. They provide me with all the course details as well as the fee structure for all courses. The fee was found more competitive and genuine. After a few days, I visited the college again. I paid the registration fee and get registered my seat for admission. The full fee was given after the course started.

Faculty

2.5

Teachers were very strict about the study. But some of the teachers were not well experienced. The teachers are Freshers due to which I had to more concentrate on self-study. The teachers were very helping. Teachers provide the students all the study material for the reference of the student. Overall the teachers were average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
