What Students Say

Likes

Teacher give time to everyone in the class.
Less number of students that means more interaction with the class and teachers.
Close to my hometown batala and also its cheaper then the other cities.

Dislikes

No extracurricular activites as compared to other universities
No events, no seminars, no exposure is there.
Teachers mentality is very orthodox and they are not that much friendlier.

The course curriculum is very much relevant if its all about theory but if one wants to really use what they study in the 4 years then the curriculum is just so boring beacuse the practicals are just so lame. If one is opting that just studying the curriculum would get them a job then they are living in a dilemma.

College does not provide internships that much they do not they just tell you what one should do or just give tips like that no internships are specifically provided to anyone there its waste of time to ask from them you should opt yourselves

Placement Experience

The placements are good but average package is not that high its just 3.5 LPA but several companies come for placements like TCS, AMDOCKS, WIPRO, INFOSYS. As it was recession this year most Of the companies did not came.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is highly priced as the infrastructure is not just bad its broken the fee is same as main campus which is so much better than the gurdaspur campus i would say if one is spending this much money then one should surely get admission in the private university. Scholarships are their for sc,st and the ones whose family come under BPL.

Campus Life

The campus life is hell as there is not a single activity to do one should get admitted in a private institute for sure to get a social life and a better college life for sure as this college got nothing to provide you entertainment except professors.

Admission

Admission process is very much easy they say that you need to have jee mains but they get you admitted without that too its very easy to get admission in the course and if one wants to get admitted in the main campus then its very tough.

Faculty

The faculty is highly educated and have very much knowledge about the subjects they teach but the thing is they aint that friendly they are mostly subject and syllabus oriented which is good

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Overall decent college but need several improvements

I applied for vit vellore , bits . They had very hefty amounts of fess. Which i might not afford. Thats why i did not take admission in these college . My 4 year fees is their aunnal fees. I cleared the exams of vit and bit. For financial reasons i did not take admisison . For other courses rather than btech the college tame entrance tests . For btech jee mains is preffered . The cutoff generaly goes till 85% . There is also a managemnet quoto. Please dont make this statement public. Instead of 130000 they take 300000 for a year in fees....Read More

GNDU gurdaspur experience

The admission process at main campus is based on jee mains ranking. However if you couldn't get a seat there then you can definitely get a seat here with some decent marks in 12th exam. The reasom to choose this college is you are still part of GNDU Amritsar and can avail those services to your best. Your degree will hold some value better than some local college. The university is associated to government and thus doesn't bother you unnecessary for money as some private universities are reputed to. That is enough reason to choose it over than a local college.the usual cutoff of admission is around 2-2.5lakh based on jee mains. But this is increasing day by day based on increasing competition. My experience with college

This college was near to my house and it didn't took a lot of time to reach there that's why this was very convenient for me so I chose this college . I didn't applied in any other college nor did I availed any quota while admission . The minimum marks required for my course was 60% and I had attained more than 90% so I didn't faced any issue while admission. There was an entrance test and a counselling session as well. The entrance test was not so tough according to me and I was able to clear it easily. The counselling day was an interesting one as it was my first time experience.
