A normal college life

For someone who wants to give IIT-JAM. The cirruculum is not up to the mark . There are many things that one needs ro study on their own when it comes to biotechnology. Exams are taken after 3 months or so with tests in between. They have his ritual if I must say of asking students to summarise the last day's lecture.

Each subject combination has different price than the others. There has been a hike every year. The complete cost of the courses are not so high in comparison to private colleges as it has public-private university. There are many scholarships while not of the college they do encourage us to apply for the scholarships . There are some scholarship from the university 1. Financial support based on merit 2. There's always something happening in the campus all year round. Events of different associations. In the odd semester we Pratibha : college day or fest Swagath: freshers North east association food stalls Elementia held by chemistry association In the even sem we have Visages: intercollegiate fest Footprints: by north east association Sequentia : biotech association fest Just to name a few. One can differenttypes of journals in the library be it research published by others or the college faulty. The library accessability is really easy and borrowing books is automatised. The classrooms are the bleak part of the college . Specially the science block ones as it is the oldest building. The classrooms in the new block and magis block are much better . There are a variety of sports you can take part in . Every department has a student run association which holds different kind of interactive events throughtout the year.

The eligibility of the course is the bare minimum. One can find application forms on their official websites. The fees depends on the course and the application form is released in feb and the second time in may. The exam is not so difficult if one paid attention in class you could pass with flying colours. The exams are every 3 months and tests with are added to the internals.

The faculty to student ratio is really helpful . If you have some doubt about the subject and the teacher is not there due to classes others in the staff room are willing to help or sometimes convey your message to the concerned teacher. There is the concept of mentor , they are your guardian inside the campus and if the class is large as in my case there are 2 mentors each with 25 students under them.
