The college is in proximity to my house and among the top ten law college of the country, It is a residential university and is affiliated to and receives central assistance from the University Grants Commission and is recognized by the Bar Council of India.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The fee structure of the law as a field is itself on the expensive side but Hidayatullah national law university is an exception it cost around 175000 per year plus the mess charge which can be calculated at around 13180 per semester The fees of other NLUs are on the upper side as they are costlier
The placement of Hidayatullah national law university is very good this year about 84 students applied and out of which nearly 70 got pre-placement offers and got the job Some went to top universities like Harvard University to acquire higher education and other opted for the judiciary
The candidate needs to appear for the CLAT, then if qualified and based on the all India rank list of CLAT the college shortlist it's eligible candidatesAdmissions to Undergraduate and postgraduate courses is made on the basis of merit as assessed through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Prior to 2008, admissions were conducted through National Entrance Tests which was replaced by CLAT as per the Supreme Court of India's directives. Admissions to the Ph.D. Programme is conducted separately by the University. Students belonging to the state domicile Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class, and PWD and minorities are provided with scholarships by the state governmentHNLU conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in 2013. CLAT is conducted for conducted for admission into various academic programmes (LLB and LLM) of the 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. The 2013 edition of CLAT saw 29,500 test takers. Initially, HNLU rejected 1,317 out of 29,500 application forms that were "incomplete or filled improperly", but on 23 April notified on its website that "on the basis of requests made by applicants and their parents" it would allow rejected applicants to apply again on a "provisional basis".
The college is fully residential university situated at the middle of Atal Nagar or Naya Raipur in the state of Chhattisgarh, the hostel can occupy nearly 500 students and the mess food is good with a vast menu and having cheap rates to enjoy plus the mess keep running till 3 in the night
The alumni network and association of the college is amazing and well established since the college is established in the year 2003 so the alumni network keeps on enlarging
Heading the administration of the university are Visitor: Arun Kumar Mishra, Judge, Supreme Court of India. Chancellor: A.K. Tripathi, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh. Vice Chancellor: C.B. Bajpai There are a total of 31 faculty members and the same number of non-teaching staff and there are numerous posts lying vacant due to the recent retirement of official and other staffs
The students of the university have won various awards and accolades. In 2012 the Supreme Court Lawyers Welfare Trust awarded its first annual fellowship, named "The Lawyers Welfare Award" to HNLU alumnus Pallav Mongia. An alumnus of the 2012 graduating batch, Saksham Chaturvedi won the ABA Section of International Law's Rona R. Mears Student Writing Competition and Scholarship Award, 2011 for his essay on "The Geneva Conventions: What Past? What futures?" and was awarded the prize in an event hosted by the American Bar Association in Washington

COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
HNLU currently offers the following courses: BA, LL.B (Hons.) - Integrated Undergraduate Law Degree Program (5 years) LL.M - Master of Laws - Postgraduate Program (1 year) Ph.D.  Courses offered Edit Undergraduate Edit The university follows a semester system in its undergraduate program, with the students studying a total of 56 papers in 5 years. The university earlier had a system of students declaring a major (Political Science, Sociology or Economics), but currently, it offers a single major, Political Science. In the 4th and 5th year, students have to choose two honors papers. All students are also required to study six optional papers during their 4th and 5th year. Postgraduate Edit The university offers a one-year LL.M Program which runs according to a trimester system. The specializations offered are corporate law, intellectual property law, and environmental law.
The college provides internship break of one month and two months in the months of December and may and June respectively in which students can apply to intern at various NGOs, under attorneys and judges accordingly and they can intern under highly reputed law firms of the country too Students have interned at Khaitan and co. Azb and partners and other highly reputed companies and some have opted for foreign internship period too
