Course Curriculum Overview
In the year 2023, the Curriculum of the DTU BTech course changed a bit making more lab work and practical knowledge using the latest research and technologies. Professors teach using smart boards and PPT. The Curriculum is still not perfect for real-world applications. The mechanical engineering of DTU is most valued and considered equivalent to IITs.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship opportunities for students completing 2nd year. They are paid and unpaid, Some students get stipends up to 1.5 lac also. Major projects should be regarding the field you want to work in.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are somewhere between 2,29,000 to 2,45,000 rupees from 1st year to 4th year BTech courses. The hostel and mess charge 80,000 for 1 year combined. Scholarships are provided to underprivileged sections of students after complete verification. I did not take any campus employment until now.
Campus Life
Fests are ENGIFEST , Yuvaan . ENGIFEST invites Bollywood celebrities like Shreya Ghoshal to come in 2024. It happens in February every year. The library is on 3 floors and accessible only to DTU students. You can go there for assignments and other work or even to relax. All course books are available section-wise. The sports complex is spread over a large area for all major sports. There are technical and non-technical societies Cultural Council, UAS. etc.
Admission
Eligibility - 10+2 with PCM and 60% above in PCM in the 12th class. Jee Mains qualified. JAC boards do the counselling procedure and 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi students (12th pass from Delhi). The cutoff is 92 percentile for Delhi students and 95 percentile for outside Delhi students for a decent branch.
Faculty
The faculty consists of senior and junior professors. Some are PHD students. They are well educated with Mtech From IIT OR DTU or PDH from JNU. They take regular classes and provide notes after each class. Students do not need to write any notes. Most of them are available for doubt in WhatsApp.
