What Students Say

Likes

The permanent faculty of bachelor of arts in multimedia and mass communication course is excellent
The climate of the college and students are friendly
The library , classroom are well maintained. The events are one of the most popular.

Dislikes

The visiting faculty is not that good, it may sometimes create confusion.

Course Curriculum Overview

Overall the course curriculum is quite good. The teachers are friendly enough to help the students. The only improvement needed is to increase the practical knowledge in the Bmm department. As this course requires practical knowledge of films, cinematic exposure , this is what there is need for improvement.

Class Size: 68Course Fees: INR 65000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure for 1st year is 60000 for 2nd year is 65000 and 3rd year is 70000. Theere is no concession on the fee for caste system, although there is Gujarati reservation of seats in mithibai. College do accept scholarship of reliance foundation.

Campus Life

4.5

There are too much of extra curricular activities in the college. The various departments in it fine arts , litrery arts , dance , drama , singing The most awaited fest of the year of Mithibai College the Kshitij that is held in January end The sports opportunities for the students is vast. Though therenis no campus in the college but still one of the best

Admission

There was new entrance exam introduced for our batch 23 -34. Cuet exam this exam was announced 3 to 4 months before the admission process that created so much of hectic. Futher there was problem for the centre of entrance exam and the exam kept on postpone the other day. Futher after all , the merit list was out the criteria was 50 50 for entrance and for 12th percentage. There was reservation for Gujarati minority quota and the seats for them was kept reserved. This all created a lot of problems and the college was started too late that is on 8th August. The only improvement that was need is that there should not be any last moment announcement for the entrance exam

Faculty

The permanent faculty is quite good. The teaching method , the conversation the one to one guidance is great. Students can ask there doubt even after the lectures. Faculty is ready to help the students anytime needed

Canteens were supper affordable for students for food accessibility

Dislikes

The cordination given by management of college, They were so rude all the time idk y

Course Curriculum Overview:

Literature gave me insights to the history and a different pov on the situations happened Literature sharpens the thought process we can have in real world scenarios which are quite unique tbh. Its just too much of theory, if could update it and make it somehow relavent to today situation, it would be fun learning it

SPC from a TYBA students POV

Likes

Kalamandal (like theatre club), it’s a different world and it’s magical.
December to March is the college fests time and it’s super lively and fun
Psychology, Sociology & Philosophy departments have amazing professors. They’re smart, helpful and actually care for their students

Dislikes

Except for Psyc, Socio& Philo other departments are awful specially the English department. The HOD herself speaks horrible English and doesn’t even know any books of jane Austin besides pride and prejudice.
The toilets are horrible and never clean and are barely open even. The canteens are also okayish at most.
The management and accounts department are horribly slow

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's good, it's fun and I enjoy it. It changes every sem and that's why we also get to explore more of the subjects. It also depends on the professor tho. First year is to chose 6 different subjects and explore. Then second year you get to choose one major and two minors. Major are then divided into 3 parts, the 2 minor subject are elaborated and one compulsory subject which is English, this continues for third year. There are 2-3 additional subjects that change every sem too like PE, EVS, etc.

Life at Mithibai College by Bhumi Chhajed

Mithibai has great placement opportunity as there are big companies that comes for campus placement like KPMG, DELOITTE, JP MORGAN and EY. So it can give great start to students in corporate world. This is one of the reasons I chose mithibai over other colleges. Also there are so many clubs that I can be a part of to form connections, gather ideas and build leadership skills. I also applied to NMIMS, DU and I got admission there. Reason for not choosing was simple that the opportunities for me were more at Mithibai than any other college and it was a great decision overall. Admission process was all online that makes it convenient for outstation students like me. Cut off for BMS is relatively higher than other self financed courses....Read More

Not a very pleasant experience.

The college had a good modern infrastructure but half of the classrooms were either unpainted or under renovation throughout the three years that I have spent in the college. Several areas were under construction which was a potential hazard to the students. I would rather prefer a heritage building like a south Bombay college than a modern half constructed college. The teachers were experienced but lacked the drive to teach efficiently. I did not find the staff extra ordinary. There was little to no connection between student and teacher. There was a lot of favoritism. Overall the college appeared mismanaged because they did not regularly update the college website and did not feel the need to email us the important updates such as exam dates, we had to run around the college campus to read the notice boards....Read More
