Course Curriculum Overview

5

I Choose Computer Science as since my childhood I keen to interested in technology, we know today technology world is all carried by CS Engineers so I also wanted to gains knowledge about how these all tech works. It's prepare according to the skills required by the industry, maximun questions asked in paper for VIT university focused on applications not theory(reference to paper of 3rd semester). Although in first sem weightage of theoretical questions is more. Student are awarded extra marks if parcipated in various national level hackathon or doing a research or simply participation in various only coding contest like Code Chef/Leetcodes. Professor sometimes makes lectures boring by not giving applications of topics in class itself they prefer to say it in the lab classes. Frequency of exams depend on many factors like the duration of the semester. But on an average for every 5 weeks you will have all theory courses exam. And just before your final assessment you will have lab exams

Internships Opportunities

4

As I am in my 3rd year so I didn't have a experience about the internship, whatever I will write it will be on the basis of senior insights and my own research so pardon me if I will be wrong. There are many roles offered by companies like TCS,Microsoft: They offered Web Dev role,DEV OPS,AI,machine learning and Augumented Reality etc. I do not expertise in this so can't say about projects and outcomes.

Placement Experience

4

After 6 semester or at the beginning of 7th semester students usually applied and sit for campus placements. Although many top class already secured a job or internship before that. There are many top MNCs visiting VIT nowadays. Moreover in 2024 itself there are almost 820 companies visited our campus. So for the list of companies you can refer to VIT official website. Number of offered made:8195 Marquee offer:560(above 20 lakhs) Super Dream offer:3323(above 10 lakhs) Dream offer:3128(above 6 lakhs) Regular offer: 1734(mass recruiters) Average CTC of 2024 batch : 11 LPA Highest CTC of 2024 batch : 88 LPA Almost 70% students got placed and remaining people includes those going for starups, higher degree, those who didn't accept the jobs etc After getting degree I will wanted to be a knowledgeable person in Computer fields. Money doesn't strive it is the passion for knowledge which is on top priority, and if I will gained enough knowledge at the time of receiving degree it is enough.

Fees and Financial Aid

All fee are in the context of Group B courses offered in VIT(for more details you can refer to VIT official website) Year wise tution fee: 1,93,000-/ caution deposit: 3,000-/ (for first year only) No other charges. If you failed to clear a course in a semester then you need to pay 6000 or 12000 (depending upon the course) for re-registration. Fee for Group A courses: Year wise tution fee:1,78,000-/ caution deposit: 3000-/

Campus Life

5

There are actually many smalls technical fests like Qubit, Techno VIT etc they are held in the months of september usually. Also there is a main annual fests with name Vibrance which is actually executed at the grand level. Last time the event is gone for 4 days, on the first day Shreya Gaushal came , On the second day Andrea Jeremiah, On third day Jonita Gandhi and on very last day some actor Vishal music band etc came. So all in all it's a grand fests and all the freshers enjoyed it. There is a variety of books and journals available in library. You can find it own VIT official website. The facilties in every classroom is top notch bench quality is good. Ventilation facility is also good. There is a projector in every classrooms. Also lab is too good, equiped with all latest gadgets. Almost you have a fair chance to play any sports of your choice There are almost 100+ clubs in VIT Chennai so we have a good chance for participating in extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are 4 blocks in VIT Chennai A,B,C,D. In which security and cleanliness is their top priority. Also the cost of living in hostel is cheper then living outside. But yeah you will get more freedom outside as compare to hostel. But at the same with freedom comes responsibility so choose wisely. In rooms you will get a personal fans, study light in your study desk(apart from a tube), you will also get a table, cupboard, chair and shoe racks also you get 3 shelf for keeping your day to day needs. cleanliness is top notch the only things I have complain is with the monkeys. Also mess food is really good depending upon your blocks(in my case I have A block which is the best). Menu is also good can't give rerence here as copy and paste is not allowed in this site. Registration process is simple and smooth either you have to book your hostel online or you have to do it offline. Persons are there to guide you not a troublesome thing to do.

Admission

As just like any others kids I also applied for JEE and aimed for entering in our pretigious IITs but due to many reasons and most importantly my own distractions lead me to not score well in JEE as a result I look for others government college where I can pursue my dream of becoming Computer Science graduate. I applied in WBJEE, COMEDK, MANIPAL, SRMJEE, MHTCET, BCET, CUET, JEE MAINS, VITEEE and many more such private and state levels entrance exams. I was able to score good in all the exams but except that JEE MAINS. I was getting others government college to but from seniors recommendation and my own research I came to conclusion of priotize VIT Chennai over others. Admission process of VIT is quite simple, if you have cleared your basic of 11th and 12th and solved JEE MAINS level questions then you are good to go and sit in VITEEE. You will have a high prority of getting good rank and on the basis of your rank your tution fee is decided.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty-to-studnent ratio is generally varies from department to department and courses to courses but for a rough figure it is 1:20. Most of the faculty of our college is highly approacable and interactive. Most of them tend to make a healthier relationship with students. Their are many faculties I like in my whole 3 semester, And taking a name of one or two would be unfair as I have learnt many things from all of them. But Like if you asked for qualities I liked about them is that they all are friendly ready to help you out not only in class hours but also ready to give you extra hours. They encourage us to strive for excellence and most importantly, they not going to judge you on the basis of your marks or grade. There are no such things as good or bad it's just that their teaching method would not align with ours.so yeah I cannot take name of any professors. All are good and if some are not then thankfully because of Add/Drop I changed them. 3 exams CAT1,CAT2(Mid),FAT(Final)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
