Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Before joining this college, I talked to a counselor and they explained the course very clearly. They were very friendly. The industrial exposure is very good because at least three hackathons happen every month. CEOs and founders of well-known brands come here for seminars. The teaching method needs to change because math and physics are not necessary for computer science. Only basic knowledge is enough so that we can prepare more for coding and programming. Some colleges have started this curriculum, and LPU also has it, but we have to pay 40k extra per semester. For those who can afford it, it's good. The frequency is good for studying because if the gap is longer, we won't study.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

If we have the skills, we can get an internship in the 3rd or 4th year, paid or unpaid, depending on the company. Some people get internships after a hackathon if they have very good skills and a good reputation with companies.

Placement Experience

3.5

If we have skills, we get placements here, and if we work hard, we can get up to 50 LPA. Most of the renowned companies will come for placements, for example, Microsoft, Google, etc. TCS will give a high number of job offers, but the package is low. It all depends on you and your skills. The placement percentage in Computer Science is about 80-90%, and the average is 7 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hey everyone, I registered for LPUNEST (the entrance exam for LPU) for ?500 and I was in the 2nd category, which offers a discount of ?35,000 from the 1st semester. The usual fee is ?140,000 per semester and ?280,000 for 1 year. After the scholarship, I have to pay ?205,000 and have an additional ?4,000 for the exam fee per semester. One of my friends got a category 1 scholarship, which offers a deduction of ?42,000 per semester.

Campus Life

5

It's the main part here. Extracurriculars, sports club events are better than the education here. Most of them come here to enjoy themselves. There will be at least three events per month. They have healthy clubs, and anyone can enjoy them. The library is very big and has numerous books. They are also very good at sports. Some of the LPU graduates are participating in the Olympics, and some are staying here for sports practice even after graduating.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel facilities are very bad. They show different pictures on their website, but the actual place is different. The bathrooms and toilets are not good. They have putty and stains, and even public washrooms are better than the hostel washrooms. The mess food is also very bad. Some people have found hair, worms in salad, and cockroaches in the curry. It is also very oily. However, the hostel faculties are good. That is the only good thing about the hostel. The hostel fee is very high compared to the facilities provided. I will shift to an outside PG or hostel from next year as I have already paid for this year. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone who cannot handle these conditions

Admission

I have tried to get nit but didn't happen and tried for bits pilani but competition is high and through management quota fees is very high , and lpu has vast number of computer science seats and its easy to get to admission and it has also have bad side while in placement and admission process is very easy and can anyone will cone

Faculty

3.5

We have so many faculties, and I have seen one of my professors' timetables. He had only about 2-3 classes per day for 4-5 days per week. By this, we can understand the faculty-student ratio, and it is very easy to approach them. Sachin Chawla is my favorite lecturer because of his friendly behavior. However, Manik Sir is the only lecturer I don't like because he is not friendly and doesn't understand our situations. Out of the six lecturers, I would say two are bad. It depends upon the subjects some subjects hard some are easy some are moderate (im talking about exam) and i heard so many students will fail because of attendance

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
