Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum focuses on practical exposure rather than learning from books . But bringing that to the practical side is difficult due to lack of patients and more number or students . Curriculum make sure that only students who have learned clears the exam .
Internships Opportunities
Internship is done in the college hospital itself . Internship exposes us to all kinds of departments and patients there. We have heavy duty to be done . Overnight duties are also there . Internship is the part where we actually learns the entire course
Fees and Financial Aid
I study in a merit seat in a private college for MBBS in Kerala . This seat cost for 7,34,000 per year . Other than this , an additional fee of around 60,000 is charged as special fee which include lab fees , stationary fees , recreational charges , library fees etc. In addition to this ,if we opt to stay in hostel we have to pay around 1 lakh per annum as hostel and mess fee . We are not provided a choice to exclude mess food . SC , ST and OEC category do not have to pay the fees ,rather they get scholarship and they just have to pay a sum of around 40,000 per annum . In addition they also receive some scholarship amounts in between to their personal bank accounts for personal uses .
Campus Life
A number of cultural activities are being conducted here . Along with social service club , environmental club and a lot more . Many charity works are being organised by various clubs .This college gives importance to sports activities.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are 4shared and there is a huge lack of privacy and independent study area in the room .we have access to library and reading rooms for a better studying experience. Meal quality is the worst here . Food poisoning is really common and menu is not that good . Hostel is not affordable, it costs around a lakh per year .
Admission
MBBS allotment is completely online and we can give only choices . I could have gone for a better private college if I secured a better rank in NEET UG . Unluckily I couldn't so I ended up in this college . But academics is not that bad and almost an average here.
Faculty
It completely depends upon the mentality of the faculties. In the clinical side faculties availability is limited as they are engaged with patients . In non clinical side we get more time with faculties. We can go in person to clarify our doubts .75% of students clear the exs first time rest 10-15 %complete in say exams . Remaining students get an year back . The exams are conducted yearly by the University.
