Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since I am a civil services aspirant I want to choose Sociology as my optional paper in Mains.. Frankly speaking this subject is more field oriented than theoretically approach at first I was literally disliking the subject and regretting for choosing it because I felt like the subject was very boring and too elasticity unless I started thinking from Different perspectives that is when I started applying all my learnings into practical knowledge and a comparative studies with the actual society I am staying and also I started applying sociology in my day to day life .. the social structure, norms , construction , activities, policies , etc.. Then I got a clarity that more than Mains or any other exam perspectives first Sociology should be studied to understand the society and kind of people they are living with..

Internships Opportunities

4

Roles and internship opportunities are offered based on the degree the student pursuing .. the works are mostly related to their career development.. Some companies offer stipend internship whereas vice versa .. Sometimes Stipends and benefits are given based on the performance of the students during internship.. This would be a practical experience for a student to know how work structure would be before entering into an actual work life..

Placement Experience

3.5

Students are prepared for placements from 5th semester, they are given proper training and counseling by the placement coordinators of the college and also from the alumnis who have been selected in placements from studying in this college.. they are called to give a lecture based on their experiences and how they are selected.. Companies such as Accenture, TCS , are encouraging students with placement offers based on certain eligibility criteria .. Many students are rejected from placement opportunities because of their arrears.. sometimes students who are really capable are also getting affected when they are absent for semester due to a genuine reason but they are marked as arrears and cannot apply for placement .. My plans after getting degree is to pursue a Master's degree..

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year- 1st term- 27400 2nd term -26,800 2nd year- 54,450 3rd year-50,000 There is no such consertion for students based on their backgrounds But many students get admission easily through sports quota.. For some students based on their eligibility scholarships are given..

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure is really peaceful , safe and sound .. everywhere guards will be standing inside the campus for students safety.. Library was really usefull it has many books with seperate sections for all the departments available also the library contains many books for competitive exams which was really useful for me.. The sports is given a major priority in the college.. students are encouraged to participate in many intercollegiate events.. Extracurricular activities is also focused but only less students are given opportunities to participate in competition since there is an internal politics going through with the cultural association.. it was kind of domination by the certain students being in the association members.. Coming upto College events only Pongal is celebrated wholly by all deparments in a very grand manner other than that all other festivals like Onam , diwali , christmas are celebrated seperately within the departments that too only when the HOD permits..

Admission

Actually I applied only 3 colleges other than this and I got admission in all colleges but I chose this college since it was likely near to my home so that traveling would be much easier when comparing to other colleges.. Other colleges I applied Sociology are MOP vaishnava, Stella Maris and Loyola .. I got admission in all colleges since my percentage was very much high to the cutoff they have kept for that course.. Admission criteria in my college was for each department, based on the value of the course they have set a cutoffs for students , based on the percentage taken in 12th std to join the particular course..

Faculty

4.5

My department faculties were really keen in encouraging the students and focused on giving them all exposures they needed.. My favourite faculties are Sara ma'am, Mythili ma'am,Nandhini ma'am, Venkatasubramaniam Sir, Nidhi ma'am ,Ponmani ma'am , Krithika ma'am , Sai Rajesh sir, Maria ma'am , Shanmugapriya ma'am, Thenkovam sir, also the librarian she really speak well to me regarding my career but I am feeling so sorry that I have not asked her name even once.. I don't want to mention the faculties whom I don't like but the reason for disliking then is that they didn't treat all students equally some were too harsh with the students whom they disliked.. Also they were like showing their power and making students to beg for internal marks and attendance.. In Each semester 3phases of exams are conducted.. mid- semester for 50 marks .. then model exam for 100 marks and attendance last the final semester comes for 100 marks..

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well-structured and covers both theoretical and practical aspects. It provides a strong foundation for higher studies and career opportunities. Internal assessments and semester exams are conducted regularly, with a fair marking system. More industry exposure, internships, and skill-based training would further enhance students' learning experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The department of English not only offers good education but also so many values to lead our life. Faculties were so friendly in clearing students' doubts. There was personality development course to improve students' personality. Students had to choose any other subjects other than they are studying for sbi course. Due to this students learn about other subjects too.

Madras School of Economics - [MSE], Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
