Likes

The things i liked here are first is there is no ragging in the campus
Secondly as it is small campus we can just walk to classesin just 1-2 min
And lastly the classrooms are open 24/7 irrelevant of day

Dislikes

And there are some things i personally dont like
Firstly there is a lot of snakes around here
And lastly if anything is broken/dameged it may take long time to be repaired.

Course Curriculum Overview

As it is a statistical institute the curriculum is tilted towards maths but not only maths, we also have computers, physics, economics etc.. the teaching is some what high standerd so this course is a difficult.

As i said earlier there are very few number of students will sit for placement interviews so there are only few companies those are Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, ICICI Bank, Samsung, Flipkart, Amazon, Deloitte, TCS, PNB Bank, and Walmart Labs.

Placement Experience

Generally students dont go for placement interview instead they opt for higher studies as after doing phd you can get a decent amount of salary or you can continue in research. The students who sit for placements will definitely get a job with decent salary as there is no much competition.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here in ISI there is no tuition fee irrelevant of category and they will give you INR 5000(for bmat) as stipend every month and you need to pay around 3500 for mess and hostel fee every month. And also they will aid in your medical treatment.

Campus Life

As there are less students there is only math club here but there are committees which will run the other activities, and students are encouraged to join these committees. Due to less number of students there are only 1 to 2 fests around year. But they celebrate festivals nicely.

Hostel Facilities

They have given me a nice single room and the hostel room is so spacious so there is no problem in accommodation and also rent is INR 200 per month. The food is optimal food for both south indians and north indians.

I got a rank around 8000 in jee advanced and i was also getting some decent courses in IIT's but i love math more than any thing so i joined this course and also there a few colleges with this course. To join in this u have to write isi entrance exam held by isi

Faculty

As it is a reputated college of india the faculty is very experienced in there feild. The faculty-student ratio increases as we go to higher studies here, we have around 1:8 ratio in 1st year and in masters it goes to 1:2.

Positive experience with internship training

The principal is very supportive and helpful to students. The management listens to student problems and guide us. The college campus environment is good.

Placement Experience:

The college also provide basic placement support like career guidance, interview preparation, and skill development program. After completing my degree, i plan to gain work experience in my feild and improve my professional skill for better career opportunities.

Likes

Teacher are well indulged , they help you .
Very good area where students get stuff they need.
Provision of canteen and stationery given

Dislikes

Campus is tooo small for a student to even have lunch
Strict and actively don't support in athletics
Sometimes, dealing with admin-related processes like society budget approval or fest dates approval can be slow and confusing.

As I got admission in 2024 so BCU started SEP Batch which is totally new , and we really don't find any book to refer on the basis where we don't get help as much as we need and it's new , bsc has alot to do .

IISc at a glance: An Institute with a Legacy of Excellence

Likes

Research culture, cooperation and a distinct lack of competition
Active student bodies, cultural groups, regional groups
Friendly professors, good understanding of mental health on the professor level

Dislikes

Bad decisions taken by admin regarding mental health, such as removal of ceiling fans and attempts at coverups.
Apparently Caste Based discrimination. Seems to be a lawsuit right now.
Difficulty with time management in early semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

All you need to know about BASEU

Likes

Infrastructure is really good, the campus is huge and is filled with greenery
The curriculum is extensive and is based on real world applications
The campus is happening with a lot of clubs

Dislikes

The placements are not upto the mark, could be better
The mess food could improve. It is puke worthy.
Although it is a college, there are a lot of restrictions

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.

I did not apply to any other college other than Indian Statistical Institute- Bangalore, because this was my only aim and a dream college. I did not avail any quota and belong to the general category. The minimum age is 17 and the maximum is 20. The minimum marks vary depending on how the students have scored. The admission process was fairly simple. Approximately 1 month after the exam, an initial list of 85 students was declared from which the top 50 were eligible for admission and the rest were on the waiting list who would be eligible for admission in case of any vacancy. We got an email from the authorities right after the admission process got over. We were given a college email ID for official communication along with the date and time of counselling. If you love mathematics B.Math ISI Bangalore is the ideal place

I applied to many IITs and Jadavpur University. However, being invested in Mathematics, I thought that ISI Bangalore will be best for me. Most importantly I do not regret my decision as its a great institute. I did not have any quota, however, there are reservation of seats in the institute. The admission process is a little difficult. They have a separate entrance exam which has olympiad level mathematics. The minimum age is 17 and maximum is 20. Also, in order to sit for the exam you need to have english and mathematics in +2. Due to covid we did not have any interviews which is difficult too. The counselling was easier for me as I was selected in the first list.
