A brief introduction about IKG-PTU

Our university main campus is the best campus among all the government college campuses it has a well developed infrastructure and labs the university has in the campus post office and a bank with a well developed knowledge resource center or you can say central library in which we have access to all the leading journals and books. The university has a good team of security people which avoids any type of incident to happen and most importantly our campus is a ragging free campus.

Entrance Exam, Merit List

The course curriculum is very well designed and it is being updated regularly according to new technology advancements and the need of the market. The university has a separate Board of studies for every department and the members are eminent faculties from IITs and other reputed institutions and industry experts too. I think this benefits us so much in gaining knowledge of what we have to do in our area.

Yes, my college provides internship as it has tie ups with many of the well known companies they use to come every year and select students on the basis of an exam conducted by them. Recently Wipro came and gave a good stipend of 3.50 lacs and similarly many more companies like a red carpet, Infosys, Reliance Jio came and given the opportunity to students to work in their company as an intern.

The placements are going very nice every year all the students are being trained for the aptitude and interview by the university and as we know it is the university main campus all the leading companies came and provide the opportunity to the students recently a package of 12 lacs was given to a student of MBA by red carpet. Most importantly the job fairs are being organized here by the Punjab government which helps all students to get a good job.

The fee structure is feasible if you score well in jee main you will get a scholarship of 100 percent and I think the fees are not so high the institution helps in getting education loans for students.

The college provide scholarships on the basis of jee mains up to 100 percent fee waiver after that there is a scheme for students in minority or OBC, sc, st they are given scholarships by National scholarship portal, the university helps in getting the education loans and it has MoU signed with banks regarding this.

The university hosts annual sports events, youth festivals and organizes many events like entrepreneurs week, engineers day tech fests, they provide a healthy sports environment and a well trained coach. The university main campus has all the labs available according to AICTE guidelines and there is so much research going on there by the students under the guidance of professors.

The hostel is very nice and well furnished with attached bathrooms in every room with a balcony, rooms have cupboards and it is spacious. It also provides hot water and most importantly 24 hrs power supply, the hostel has a mess where delicious foods are served.

The university hosts annual alumni meetings and all the alumni are very helpful they visit the university and provide us guidance on how we get a good job they make us aware of the new technologies and skills needed for our job.

There is two mid sem whose weightage is 24 marks out of 100 calculated on the basis of best of two after that 6 marks for attendance and 10 marks for assignment after that end semester exams have 60 marks.

At first I had appeared in joint entrance examination conducted by the central board of secondary education, Delhi after that when the result was declared of both boards and jee mains I had applied for the counseling of IK Gujral Punjab technical University on their website separately by paying Rs 2000 then after the merit list was prepared in which I got admission in university main campus Kapurthala in first round.

Our faculty members are very well qualified maximum of our professors have done their Ph.D. from IITs and all faculty is Ph.D. qualified and have at least 10 years of teaching experience according to UGC norms. They are guiding us in doing research in the fields we are interested to do work.
