IIM Sambalpur- A journey worth living

Cousre curriculum is designed in a way which gives us practical knowledge through industry visits, live project, academic project and also help us to gain industry insights. Exams and assignment are part of this hectic culture and exam difficulty depends upon the faculty and how you prepared about the subject.

There were good opportunities for internship. Various companies from different sector like financial services, operations, marketing came to recruit. Average stipent can be seen in the placement report and also you will be provided training for the companies you appearing.

Placements are quite good and they help you until you placed some where good. You can go for offcampus if you wish but the college will help help you until you are placed. All the details of placements are availble in the report.

The fees is to be paid semester wise which costs me around Rs 216000/- per semester. For IIM Sambalpur you for locking the waitlist you have to deposit Rs 10000 which will get reimbursed you have not got the offer otherwise it will settle with offer acceptance fees which was Rs 50000. All thing were included in the fees no other charges.

Campus life was fun and you have great buddys to share it with it. You gotto to learn from your buddys and also from the hectic schedule driven by the institute. There are various clubs and committee and also help you to build good network among the industry.

Hostel facilities are good and I was from the batch who have lived into the temporary campus as well as permanent campus. Facilies are good and only con is that it is a tier 3 city otherwise it was good experience.

Firstly It is an IIM and most people appearing for cat have an aim of going to such an excellent institute like this. It was the best offer I had that time and also it was the most affordable. At that point of time there was only interview after you have got shortlist through cat score. Admission process was smooth and it was driven the admission committee of IIM Sambalpur.

Faculties were very helpful and we have visiting faculty from different other b schools as well. Marking scheme depends upon the faculty and also it includes various components for gradingwjich includes project, assignment, quizzes and exams (varies according to the faculty). Soumya guha deb is one of the faculty whom i liked the most he is one of best faculty for financail management and he is helpful and supportive toward students. All the faculties were good so there is noone that i dislike. Student do fail in some subjects but only if they are not working on any components of the subject otherwise passing is not an issue in the Institute. Cousre curriculum is relevant according to the industry and also designed in a way to give us industry insights through live projects and guest sessions.

Only interview was there if you have to prepare your CV, about your subjects and also about the experience you have. You have to prepare about current affairs as well. You have to be confident and also convince why you are a great fit for the program.
