Remarks

The positive part about the college is the co-ordinating nature of the principal and the Dean. They try to understand the students. The negative part is that they need to improve on the drinking water facility as we don't have a drinking water facility on every floor and the Administration department needs to help students more politely.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is a good career option nowadays as it covers the prospect of whole media from electronic to print, advertisement and marketing and public relation and also includes film making as a whole. It's a 3 years course with BSc(H)degree. Under MAKAUT, it is divided into 6 semesters and in the 6th semester, we can choose a specialization.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college provides Internships and tries to give industry exposure to the students who are regular and have good marks in the semesters. A student needs to have a minimum of 60% attendance and a good GPA. I, myself got an internship at a Government NGO for video editing. We get internships after the 3rd Semester then after the 4th semester in a more market prominent company. They provide internships throughout India, with or without stipend according to the company we choose. But there is no direct placement.

College Events

4.5

The college is very serious about giving students exposure. From celebrating in college festivals on film, advertisement and PR and many sessions with renowned industry professionals from radio to journalism and film industry also from marketing and theatre, students are allowed to participate media related events throughout India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive for a 3 year BSc course. I took admission for 72500 INR including tuition fees for the first semester and then 50000INR for the other 5 semesters which sums up to RS 3,12000. MAKAUT registration and exam fees are excluded.

Fees and Financial Aid

No Media Science does not offer any scholarship or loan facility. But with proper reason and permission from the principal, one can delay submitting the fees by 1 month. Otherwise, there is no loan or scholarship facility.

Campus Life

5

The Heritage campus is really big and wide with a lot of fields for playing. The college also organizes every year football and cricket tournaments among each department and is expecting to make it inter college. For BCA, they have two separate lab rooms each of them can accommodate 60 students. For Media Science, we have separate MAC Lab, with 60 computers all with Apple OS, for video editing purpose to learn and work on college projects. We have many projects and assignments which help us to grow our skills. College events also help us to understand every subject more clearly and understanding the market.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I did not have opted for the Hostel facility, as I live nearer. There is an option for hostel facilities for students separate for boys and girls within the campus. Students from any department can stay there and can book a hostel during the time of admission. Infrastructure is very good as my friend has taken the hostel facility, I have visited there. Food is boring but overall its good.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really helpful. They are very decent and reachable every time we need to. They really care for their juniors. The campus is totally Anti-Ragging. We can discuss academics and prospects of the course along with other than academic issues as well.

Faculty

4

The college has a very good reputation among the students for its faculty and the Media Science course is 3years old in the college. In 3 years, it has developed a lot in faculties and study equipments. Faculties are all from industries and well experienced and a degree holder. They have in-depth knowledge of subjects, they are teaching. From theatre to film making and Marketing and Advertisement, everybody are industry professionals.

Placement Experience:

The placements are really nice. Every year, a large amount of students are employed by Tech Mahindra, CTS, TCS, Wipro, etc. all software giants. The starting salaries are also decent. Most students get placed, but 100% placement has also been achieved by the college now.

Placement Experience:

Placement eligibility usually starts in the final year, but there are limited opportunities. Some IT and outsourcing companies visit, but they offer low salary packages. The average package offered is not very high about 3-4 LPA and only a small percentage of students get placed. Many students prefer to pursue an MCA or learn additional skills like web development, data science or cyber security to improve their job prospects. After completing my BCA, I plan to gain experience in IT related jobs improve my technical skills and possibly pursue higher studies like MCA. I might also explore freelancing or certification to increase job opportunities. Since I already have customer service and telecalling experience, I may also consider IT support roles before moving into core technical jobs. Building skills and networking will be important for getting a good job after graduation.

Students are eligible for internhips from 4th sem onwards, provided they have no backlogs and are well equipped for skills demanded by companies. The college provides good internships and job placements in reputable companies such as TCS, Wipro, Amazon etc,.[for computer science departement] with an average package of 3.5 LPA. The college has achieved a well rounded record of 100% placements[T&Cs applied] for 3 consecutive batches now[2019-22, 2020-23, 2021-24].
