Course Curriculum Overview

3

Since till now the college was non autonomous we had be learning to pass the exams. But since it has turned autonomous the teaching is different. The upcoming batches will be really benefitted because the teaching has become more practical. The curriculum is in the hands of the Anna University. So there is nothing could be done in it. There are many misalignment of topics in the curriculum. Since the college has turned autonomous the pressure is high since the semester exam is early.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship has to be done at the end of 4th and 6th semester. The college doesn't arrange for it. One must personally arrange for internship. If you couldn't find them the college helps for it. There are no paid internships. But a project has to be done during the internship which has credits.

Placement Experience

4

After the 6th semester the students are eligible for the placements. Around 80+ mechanical core companies visited our college for placements last year. Around 80% of the class got placed. Remaining opted for highers, competitive exams, business or had arrears. The highest package is 13lpa which is pretty much high for a core mechanical student. My plan is to sit for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise that I pay is Rs.180000. This fee is for merit management quota. For the government quota the fee is less based on the community and the cut-off marks. Even for the merit management cut-off marks are important. Apart from the tuition fee there is exam fee. There are many scholarship for the 7.5% reservation students, women , first graduate etc. and also on community basis. The fees is increasing year by year. And my college has recently become autonomous so there many be increase in tuition fee.

Campus Life

4

There are very less events. Around 1 or 2 events per year. If you are a person who wish to enjoy college life then this not your place. There is a good library and many books are available.the library is open till midnight. There are many classrooms with fans and good ventilation. There are many labs as per the requirement for the courses opted. There are many sports with an indoor stadium, an open ground, basketball court etc. There are many clubs like music club, dance, NSS, NCC, eco club , women empowerment cell. Our campus has no ragging and it has a anti ragging committee.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 4 and 6 sharing room. Eahh person will have a cot with separate cupboards, table and chair. The restrooms are common present on either side of the floor. The room has enough fans and lights. The menu is not bad and food quality is good. But the problem is the menu gets bored after a month. For the hostel registration one could visit the hostel directly for the details. Girls hostel has a vending machine, gym room inside. There are washing machines inside. The girls hostel is very strict. No one is allowed outside the hostel after 6:30 and if you order takeaway it must reach within 8:30.

Admission

This college has good placements for mechanical especially. I am a merit management quota student. I applied for counselling but before that I opted this college with just my cut-off marks. There weren't any exams.it was just the cut-off marks for the merit management students and for the government quota it was based on the community and cut-off marks.

Faculty

4

Ther are enough faculties for all almost all the mentioned courses. The staffs are friendly and are easy to approach. Students indulge in projects along with the staffs. Almost all the staffs in my department take classes very good. Specifically a staff who took automobile engineering for me is my favourite. His class is something which I don't miss. The class will be very good and he takes the course really good based on his experience and gives more practical knowledge. There are staffs who I don't like since they were very slow in the course in the begining and rushed in the end. Which is okay but the topics that faculty took was not clear and the teaching wasn't good at all. We were non autonomous for these many years. The semester exam was good but the correction was bad because of the Anna University. But few days back our College turned autonomous and we all hope the question paper to be easy for the upcoming semester exams.Till now the arrear percentage is not very high.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
