Course Curriculum Overview

3

My department of forensic science have various subjects and topics. The curriculum we have provides a very good combined study materials. The curriculum they have prepared is very useful. We also have practicals which helps us in our profession. There are two internal examination each semester. The syllabus we have are taught well by the professors.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for each semester varies, as a first sem student i pay 91000 for this sem alone and the same amount for next sem too. In 3rd sem the fees are reduced to 71000 and there is merit option that states that the last sem fees will be deducted if the student has above 80% in 12th.

Campus Life

3

As the new semester have just started, there are various freshers day programs conducted. Every program is video documented and posted in our official instgram page. There are also various student run clubs like eco club, literature club etc. The college is going to conduct a sports day for students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is quite good. The annual fees is 1 lakh and for the amount they provide it is very comfortable. There are three categories 8 sharing, 6 sharing and 4 sharing. Each room have an AC and a personal bathroom. The meal quality is quite good. They provide variety of food everyday. The registration for hostel services was done along with college registration.

Admission

I chose yenepoya university because it provided the course i needed. I wanted bsc forensic science and the course provided in this college is bsc forensic science with minor in cyber forensic. The admission process is quite simple, the student just have to be a science student in 12th.

Faculty

4

My faculty is department of forensic science, the faculty members we have are quite friendly and aproachable. Our class advisor is very helpful as we are inexperienced as freshers. The number of students in our department are 43. There are two internal exams in one semester and a sem final. I feel like the syllabus we have is quite easy to understand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
