Course Curriculum Overview

3

the course curriculum is highly relevant to the field covering topics which can be essential for industry success. The projects and workshops work perfect to make students understand what we really need to do for industry success. Industry level case studies help in the improvement of problem solving and critical thinking while working. The course prepares students for entry level students and adaptability in in rapidly changing field. Some parts like AI and machine learning need deeper exploration. Curriculum should provide more emphasis on soft skills like communication , teammwork and leadership which are essential in industry

Internships Opportunities

3

Between semester 6 and 7 every student is provided with internship of about 15 days in few companies which they call as industrial training. 3rd year Students indeed placed in summer internships in ADOBE, AMD, MICROSOFT, JP MORGAN. I dont have much idea about projects and all but yes we were offered internships for VLSI which was 2 months course and they would teach us how to build chips in cadence and vmware workstation.

Placement Experience

4

Placement in my college is good since it was established few years back in 2017 and almost 80% get placed. There are students who secure 50+ lpa and so on. But since the student intake is high thus they get such low in placement ratio. In ECE students some students get placed in core subjects while other either go to IT placements or go for higher studies. I myself aim at core companies and if I am unsuccessful then i will be going for GATE exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

In VIT there is a category system according to our rank in VITEEE. Thus there are 4 category in total- category 1(Rs 2lac), category 2 (Rs 3lac), category 3(Rs 4lac), category 4(Rs 5lac). So I got into VIT Bhopal in category 1 paying 198000 every year. We have to pay one time refundable Rs 3,000 as a caution money. Then there were different options for hostel allotment according to ranks and I got 4 bedded ac bunk bed room for which I had to pay one time Rs 15,000 as hostel admission fees and Rs 15,000 refundable caution deposit for hostel. My 1 year hostel fees is Rs 1,64,250 which total sums up to 1,482,000 for 4 years. But college took only the payment of 10months for the 1st year since admission was late and 1 month of orientation was online. Thus hostel fees including other miscellaneous charges were 1,58,000. One of my batchmate of Computer Science and Engineering (CORE) joined the college in category 3 and his total amount sumed up to total of Rs2,290,000 for 4 years.

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure here isn't up to the mark. There are no proper football or cricket grounds. Only badminton, table tennis and basketball grounds are present. There are almost every clubs present. The Aviator clubs, regional clubs, electro vlsi clubs etc are awesome. The laboratories are well functional. I did not face any missing equipment till date. Library has various and almost all books. Almost all important festivals are held. For eg we had Garba , Ganesh chaturthi with a bash. The classroom has projector and other technologies needed to fund knowledge in students but lacks AC. Boys need to walk 1.5km to reach college from hostel while girls need 800-900m

Hostel Facilities

3

My hostel room is 4 bedded ac bunk bed. I live in the newest built hostel Block 6. It has common bathroom which is cleaned regularly. There are alternate wifi provided in rooms. Speed of Wifi is near about 1 mbps and has every games blocked on it. There is a special block for boys which has attached bathroom and 24hrs ac service. VIT has 3 mess company for boys- CRCL(block 1), MAYURI (block 2-5,7), SAFAL (block 6). Safal is mediocre while Mayuri is the best and CRCL is the worst in terms of food taste. Menu has large variety. VIT has high charges which reaches upto 2lakh for 2 bedded ac rooms and around 1.4 lakhs for 4 bedded non ac rooms. Its better to stay in PG if someone can get permission from their higher ups i.e parents xd. My friends rented their PG in SEHORE and ASHTA. Bus from VIT visits the area if student wants bus service from college to PG and vice versa. Although the bus travels once in the morning from PG to college and once in evening from college to PG so students need to make their time table accordingly

Admission

VIT has a branding in engineering field. Thus it is a reliable college to study. That is one big reason why I chose this college. I did secure 11339 rank in SRM and wanted ECE in SRM KTR. But the college scammed me and did not let me sit for the counselling. One of my friend who gave the same SRMJEE examination with me got 18k rank and secured the same ECE in SRM KTR. I secured 36% scholarship in Chandigarh University and was getting CSE core. But I wasnt interested in that college due to several bad image in the market. In JEE Mains I secured 89 percentile with which I could get no government colleges in India. In BITSAT I got 220 marks out of 390 which wasnt enough to get a college.

Faculty

4

Coming to exams and faculties realted to it the marking scheme is like both internal and external is taken into existance. To get good cgpa one has to score good in attendance, group activity, tutorials and theory exams. We have 10 marks for group activity, 10 marks for tutorials , 5 marks for viva and 5 marks for attendance. this includes the internal and 50 marks for theory. this makes the mid semester. Then in the semester we have full 100 marks test and cgpa is calculated accordingly. faculty here are of different types. Some being the excellent ones teaching the best like Ms. Sonali Gupta, Dr. Deep Chandra Upadhyay etc, then the average ones and lastly some who arent good and cannot teach.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.

Placement Experience:

Placements in college are quite good if we compare them with other similar state government engineering colleges. It has a separate TPO (training and placement office) cell which helps students in their placements. Some quite good companies like TCS and Wipro visit the campus for placements. Around 40% of students get placed every year. The highest being 11 LPA. Core competencies the lowest 3.5 LPA salary offered in IT sector companies. Reliance, LNT, Infosys were the top recruiters. Every year students go for internships in BHEL NTPC etc. Companies ( around 30%) Other 70% students go for local transmission plant as the internship is compulsory for everyone. Students organize cultural activities.

In my point of view If you can afford good fee you should never even think of this college. The college is only for local students or the students those do not have a good score and wants a college with no donation and students having strong will power that they will not mix up with the local students can go for the admission.
