Students at nitc typically eligible for campus placements starting from their 7th semester. Companies from diverse sectors recruit at nit calicut. The no of offers varies yearly but often reaches over 500-600 across all branches in top companies. Top offers in range of 40 to 45 LPA Average 12 to 15. Overall placement percentage is 85 to 90 percentage of students

Fees and Financial Aid

Around 1.5 lakh per year for general category students. For the four-year btech program, the tution cost approximately 5 lakhs. Hostel fees 17000 to 20000 per semester. Mess charge 20000 to 25000 per semester.

Nitc has vibrant student community from across India. Festivals like onam, diwali, and regional celebrations are widely observed, enhancing the social vibe on campus. Thatva and ragam are top fests in South india and as well as nitc. Clubs and extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

Generally in room they will provide a bed , chair, Cupboard, desk. In all hostels wifi is also provided. all hostels have their respective mess in ground floor except 1 or 2 remaining all messes will be good. We will do registration for by monthly and have mess cut also. I think in the campus premices pg rooms are not available

Admission

Other class students tipically apply to and admission choises. Nit calicut admission process and requirements 75 percent eligibility in class 12. Most preferred exam is JEE. Cutoff is 500 to 3000. Admission experience, jossa Counciling, seat allocation rounds, Document verification and fee payment

Faculty

Faculty in nit calicut are highly qualified with most professors holding phd's from prestigious institutes in India or abroad. The teaching approach is generally rigorous, with a strong emphasis on theatrical foundations. The course structure follows a semester based with eight semester over four years. In exams mid and end semesters and remaining will be quiz and assignments.

Night Life

In nitc centeral library is a popular spot for group study. The gym and sports facilities are open through out the day 6am to 8pm. Cafeterias and food outlets till 10pm. hostel campus timing till 11 pm. Popular hangout sports on campus are hostel areas, student activity center, central canteen, green spaces and countryards, outside campus are SM Street, kappad beach etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
