I really like the faculty of humanities department as I was from the same department. We had really very helpful faculty who always had our back

Dislikes

Things I didn't like was that our open elective and credit courses class used to be online due to which we had problem in converting because of network issue

Course Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum was completely based on NEP. And being the first NEP batch of our college we really appreciate our faculty for being so good and helping us out in all possible ways as it was a new pattern for all. Even I appreciate them for making us do presentation which helped us overcome public speaking fear

Placement Experience

The placement are average. We became eligible for placement from 5th semester. The highest package offered this year was 4 lpa. During placement usually commerce and management students are given more preferences

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year fee was 39590, for 2nd year it was 35000, and 3rd year it was 37000 for the course of Bachelor of arts in economics and political. We also had the option of paying fees in 2 installments which was really helpful and fee was affordable

Campus Life

We have various events happening in college such as Pratibha, visages, then annual sports day, neerathon, dandiya night. Sports department is really amazing. There are many clubs such as Hindi parishad, commerce department has one club

Admission

I choose this college over others because I knew that the faculty here are the best. They'll not only give you bookish knowledge but also what's going on in the society. And they have variety of clubs and events which will help us brush up on our skills

Faculty

The faculty students relationship was really good. Faculty was helpful and understanding. Faculty of Economics and Political Science department was the best out of all of them. There was 2 exams per semester, one was the mid semester and other endd semester

Night Life

We have 2 canteen in college. And canteen food is really good. There is only boys hostel in college, no hostel for girls. Famous hangout place inside college is near bleachers and outside college is H&C, karak. Library closing time is 9 pm. Area around college is very safe

Campus Life @ Central University of Karnataka

Likes

The campus was too good in its environment.
The exposure was too good with good library facilities.
We can socialise with Pan Indian exposure

Dislikes

Hostel facilities was not well maintained
Hostel food was not that much good sometimes
College was situated in a rural place, it was so hard to travel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

A honest Review of KJC

Likes

Well maintained Campus with almost 4 blocks and a lot of canteens
knowledgeable faculty and a lot of interesting and practical subjects
A lot of fests and programs almost every day

Placement Experience:

We have a separate placement cell, and everyone interested can join in for the same. We have students placed in target, Deloitte, Accenture and other companies, both domestic and international. Students in the final year can be eligible for the campus placements.

Likes

Events are organised well ,and with full fun
Faculties are qualified lecturers and friendly
My batchmate are very much interactive and fun

Dislikes

Fee is not worth to the college they are money minded
The behaviour of principal is not good towards students
80 persent over there are Malayalam students

The course which i have taken criminology and psychology is way more interesting and the faculties are also very cooperative and we conduct industrial visit per sem and exams and strictly conducted in pur college

Likes

The quality of teaching for my course - BA Economics (Hons) is exceptional. The professors give quality time with each student to ensure concepts are clear and go beyond the surface level teaching of all concepts.
Every student gets their own mentor, who is a professor within the University who will help you guide yourself through everything, ranging from academic difficulties to personal grievances. There are regular sessions scheduled with these mentors..
There is plenty of freedom in the university. Unlike other university's there is no strict dress code or unreasonable rules for the students to follow. The campus allows each indivitual to be true to themselves.

Dislikes

The campus is very far from the city, making it difficult to have any sort of weekend get aways to the city tiresome. There are very few places around the campus that will let you experience city life.
The university does not encourage competitive spirit festivals like youth festivals apart from sports. Hence narrowing down the avenues where students can get certificates for extra curriculars to add on to your CVs
Academic rigor can get too overwhelming sometimes and one may not get time to study for other parallel exams for masters like GMAT, CAT, GRE etc. Finding time for extra curriculars may also get difficult.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Insight into KJC by a real life student

Likes

The campus is a plus. It's really clean and green. They really take care of the cleanliness of the Campus. As for the girls to boys ratio, in my class there are more girls than boys. Idk much about college overall.
I like my professors a lot. But it's all about luck. I got nice ones.
We have LMS in college. So we are provided with notes and syllabus online that we can use anytime we want.

Dislikes

The administrative office is very annoying sometimes. Just to answer one question they send the students to different offices and waste our time.
I don't understand the dress code system. I mean it's good but girls are not allowed to wear long skirt. I'm not talking about short clothes. But even long skirts are not allowed.
I would say I dislike the locality sometimes. It's not that developed so there's always something kind of construction going on which causes a lot of pollution and breathing problem specially for me with breathing issues.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We get to learn many things not because of just the syllabus and courses but also because of the national and international conferences that are held in our college. People from other colleges come in and share their knowledge with us. This experience is really good for us students. We even have expert lectures from our alumnis who give us advice on what all is required in the world outside college to earn. All these are really helpful.

Inside look: Life at St. Joseph's University

So I chose this college based on its affordability and location. I applied to Christ University and I got through the interview & addmission exam easily but it cost too much for me. Per year the fees was 2L whereas in St. Joseph's University, it costs 1.10L per year. The university is also located in a transportation-friendly location, you can travel by public and private transport.
