Course Curriculum Overview

3

The courses are given from the Savitribai Phuel University which is a very corrupt university to begin with, The courses get updated every 5 years but it's mostly just shuffling and some minor changes to the existing study material. You are still studying the topics from 1990s but the names of subjects change

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for everyone is same, we paid 90,000 rupees for hostel in 2021. Now the cost for hostel is 110000, and the academic fees used to be just under 200000 now it has grown to 264000 and is constantly growing. The amount if development fees and other expenses is constantly growing and fines are being levied everyday and is constantly growing. The infrastructure development doesn't justify the increase in the costs.

Campus Life

4

The people you meet here are great. And good with various experiences and talents. Many clubs in various fields are there to learn such as game dev, cybersecurity, technical and cultural fields like debate dramatic and quizzes. Sports and recreation facilities are there but mostly running on full capacity. The gender ratio is 1:4 but the representation is almost equal

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are alloted on the basis of merit, ranging from singlets to top 10. And doublets and triplets to the rest. Hostel is compulsory in 1st year. And you can choose to be a day scholar since second year. The building construction is fine and cleaned regularly. Students are locked inside for the night and no order are allowed expect the night canteen that rarely is functioning. Till 12pm max. The food quality of mess is above average. The food is occasionally bad. The only issue is that having similar food everyday bores any person.

Admission

I applied to this college because it gives admission to only the wards of army personnel. My other options included thapar institute of technology that I didn't join as the admissions closed before AIT list came so I couldn't compare. I cleared cutoff for some NITs but not the advanced cutoff for IITs as my main focus was to join army. I got recommended and medical out so this college was my go to plan

Faculty

2

The faculty is very average. To excel in studies you will have to study on your own. There's a very big deal about finishing your assignments and it has a really unrealistic standard of number of pages to be filed, the faculty does help if you approach them out of class. But almost all grading in being done on the basis of attendance

Night Life

1

There's no nightlife in AIT. The college get's shut down at 10PM. And at 9 in 1st year. Every sports get's closed before this and nobody is allowed to stay outside college after 9. Day scholars are not allowed in college after 7:30PM. The nightlife in pune is negligible. And there's a strict police petrol since the Porsche case.

Other Applied Colleges

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology - [Thapar University] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Engineering)

Wanted the army feel, waited for AIT results. got too busy in SSB
