What Students Say

Likes

The thing I like in the college the study environment.
Also I like the good air quality and weather.
The facilities are also good and the fests are also good.

Dislikes

The thing I dislike in the college lack of a auditorium.
A Little bit mess food because they use beans and banana in the vegetable.
Another thing I dislike is the late entry in the night.

Course Curriculum Overview

I like the building design and new invention related to infrastructure that's why I have chosen this course. The curriculum prepares us at a good level for the real world applications or further academic pursuits.

Class Size: 67Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are various opportunities to get an internship in companies. Since I'm first year student that's why I didn't get any chance of internship till now.So till now not any big projects made by us.But i will get chance in future.

Placement Experience

I'm first year student that's why I don't know too much about this section but as far as I know placements and internship starts from sixth semester and it is going through whole year. A lot of companies visited .

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees for 1st year B.tech students is about 250000 rupees. The total tuition fees is 125000.If the family annual income is less than 5 lakhs and more than 1 lakh then you will get ?tuition fees waiver,if your family income is less than 1 lakh then you will get full tuition fees waiver. One time admission fees is 2500 rupees and hostel fees is 10000.

Campus Life

I have attended mainly three fests till now. The first one if the "roots" which is basically a cultural fest, the second one is Cosmo it is also a cultural fest and performance given by almost from different states, the third one is innovision it is a technical fest .

Hostel Facilities

The hostels provide us the fan, light and internet facility but the speed is not too much. Meal is quite good except some days in a week . Registration is easy and affordability is also easy. No anyone is not rented any room or PG.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

I did my counselling through josaa website because this college accept only josaa admission and I kept my first choice this college that's why I can tell I didn't get any rejection from any college. The admission in this college through josaa counseling before this you have to clear the jee mains exam.

Faculty

The faculty to students ratio may be 1:30. The faculty and students relationship is good and easy to approachable to the faculty. I like the mathematics and engineering mechanics faculty because the way of teaching. There are mid semester exam, class test and end semester exam.

Night Life

Gym is good and cafeterias is also good because there are three big restaurant. The Library is also good and air conditioning with peaceful environment and public area is closing about 11'o clock night. The famous hangout inside the campus is golden jubilee.

Decent faculty and top tier placements, just follow the rules

Likes

I like the vibe of the canteen and greenery around my college

Dislikes

I don't like 75% attendance and the strictness of the faculty members

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs

The hostel management here as they don't give importance to the major issues here.

Likes

The college campus greenery and campus cleaning management are doing really very well that is the only good part but that doesn't matter much for your career.
⭐⭐There is nothing good to mention about this college after going through all the procedures from taking admission to degree,I regret and many of my friends also regretting taking admission into this college.⭐⭐

Dislikes

They have a good well maintained cricket ground but students are never allowed there only for commercial purposes and to attract new joinee.
Staff and management are very helpful and polite only till admission done.🥲.
Hostel food quality is extremely unhigenic, no one takes responsibility after many complaints also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Placement opportunities in my college are good, with students generally becoming eligible for campus placements from the pre-final or final year, depending on the course and company criteria. Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. The Admission steps include 1)register and appear for jee mains 2) Get jee rank and register on the Josaa Portal 3) Fill college and branch choices 4) seat allotment in rounds; upload documents and pay seat acceptance fees 5) final admission after physical document verification at Nit Rourkela....Read More

Discovering NIT Rourkela

I chose NIT rourkela based on my JEE rank, as this was the highest rated college I could get.It had good placements, had a high NIRF ranking and in comparsion to my other choices was the clear winner. The admission process takes place through JOSSA counselling for B.Tech.After being alloted a college on site registration takes place followed by hostel allocation and branch admission , a procedure that lasts about 6-10 hours. To avail admission you need to have a good JEE Main rank for which previous year cutoffs are available on the internet....Read More

The exam happens twice in a year and by difficulty level is pretty descent...with maths the hardest and toughest.
